Been to a couple of Sunderland games over last few years. Easy to get to via train and nice stadium too.

None of the Mackems I know have heard about it, having said that they are pretty disillusioned at the minute and don't seem to care too much at the minute. They are saying though that we will have more fans than them if the game goes ahead.

Guy that runs Whitby Town is a Big Tim ran a bus up from Loftus for years. He came on our bus earlier in the season and said Whitby Town are running a tournament in pre-season, Whitby Town, Celtic, Newcastle and AZ Alkmaar. Obviously won't be the first team but will probably go to that as well.

Seems most of the local Tims had already heard about this.

Would be not a bad run out for our development team.. can't see us fielding a strong team as it will be during our CL qualification..
Would rather play an up and coming team like maybe Brighton, rather than a side that's going to languish in the Championship for years. -

As great as it is with our support having such a rep of travelling in numbers, can't help but get the feeling clubs just use us.

"Hardly, considering they've played Barcelona and Man City in the Champions League this season and are on for a domestic treble. For all the 'Scottish football is *' comments they'll most likely turn us over"
Only sensible comment in there. In response to some * saying its our cup final. Lol.Last edited: May 14, 2017lazyregula likes this. -

As everyone knows, I'm Celtic/Sunderland completely split and I'll actively defend either of them! I've no doubt, with both teams as they are, Celtic are much stronger overall and will probably win comfortably, although, with Celtics CL Campaign, BR will rest most key players (Dembele, Tierney, Sinclair etc).
I've been to Celtic Park for the last Friendly, under Tony Mowbray and Sunderland nicked it 2-1, but if memory serves me correctly that was in-between the Moscow Qualifier so Celtic rested a few key players like Fortune, McGeady etc. I celebrated both Celtic and Sunderland goals, surreal match, think Marc Crosas scored for Celtic? And, Richardson for SAFC.
I've been to Celtic many times (Not as much recently I have to say) and the Fans, are without doubt - * Brillaint.
Reading from a Thread a few years ago, apparently there was trouble when Celtic last come up here, and surprise, the story changes each time. In reality, no doubt idiots from both sides played their part, but it was extremely small skirmishes I think. I wasn't there, so can't really say what happened.
I've been up for the friendly under MON in 2000 maybe? Think it ended 1-1 if memory serves me correctly, absolutely no bother on both occasions.
Anyway! Sorry once more for a few idiotic, patronising, small-minded comments from RTG.
I hope you dont tar us with the same Brush, as there's some cool one's, like me?....Okay maybe not :DLast edited: May 14, 2017LloydsGamble, littlekennie, gengar and 6 others like this. -
