Feel like this would be a decent thread to suggest some films that most of us would never hear about.
I've only watched a handful myself but I've been lucky with the ones I've picked as they've all been really good. Oldboy, The Raid (1&2), Battle Royale and The Hunt.
Anyone a fan of watching foreign films?

Two Japanese ones about street racing are decent if you're into cars and stuff, Wangan Midnight and Initial D.

One film you might want to challenge yourself with is this:
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0111341/
It's 7 hours and 30 minutes long :56:
Critics went mad for it but I can't see myself ever watching it. -

Stalingrad, REC and Assembly are the ones that stick out. House of Flying Daggers as well.
Assembly is a good one, set in the Chinese civil war. -

Now I think I watched another Brazilian film, which I think was from the early 90s or something but set in like the 70s which was really good as well but i've mostly forgot about it.

It's so realistic, you'll think you're watching a documentary. -
City of * is genuinely one of the best films ever made
Y Tu Mama Tambien and Pan's Labyrinth are two good Spanish language films
The South Koreans make good movies, but will have to google some of them
The Good, The Bad and The Weird, that was one
Oh yea and Vincent Cassel is in some decent French movies. La Haine is probably the best.Last edited by a moderator: Apr 4, 2016 -
