This is the 1 question I've had since my school days, I live in Skelmersdale which is a Liverpool/Everton/Man United dominated town but yet I proudly support Celtic, yes I've had the 'diddy league' thrown in my face about a million times but I honestly couldn't care, the answer to the question is simple really 'Henrik Larsson' I never had an idol as a child until I saw this guy play after that day every shirt I bought displayed 'Larsson 7' on the back, I've never been tempted to follow an English side and I doubt I ever will Celtic is my team for life, has anybody else gone through school as the only Celtic supporting person? If so what was peoples reaction to it

Glad to hear it mate :50:
The Isle of Man is dominated by fans of those English teams as well. When I was going through secondary school there was only maybe 2 or 3 other Celtic fans in my year and those were the days of the Martin O'Neill era so it was great when we beat Liverpool to rub it in!
It has to be said I met more respectful Liverpool, Everton, Newcastle etc fans than I did Man United, City, Chelsea and Arsenal fans.
My wee brother is going through secondary school now and I can see the impact Celtic has had on him. It's great to see! I bet he's having many of the same discussions I had back then haha.
By the way the "diddy league" they refer to has never held us back from doing well in Europe so what's the problem? England and Scotland are vastly different countries, thank *! Scotland is much smaller = smaller league, smaller teams... it doesn't matter. Personally I enjoy the away days and the history we have in Scotland.
Fans of most other clubs will never understand how great it is to support Celtic and that's fine by me! I count yourself and myself lucky!
(Oh and the last thing...there was one Oldco Rangers fan that moved to our school. He was a complete * and the very definition of a hun. No surprise there.) -
You from Skem? Great town man, everyone I have met from there has been sound as they come :50:
I have a lot of admiration for anyone who chooses Celtic when they could choose Man U etc :50: :shamrock: -
Im the only one in my neighborhood that supports celtic , can be tough at times ,as that is all i ever want to talk about

I grew up in Reading but was fortunate enough to have about 20 celtic fans at school and all their parents so we were never short of anyone to watch the game with.

I live in an English town in the midlands that is dominated by Celtic fans and huns. English clubs have never interested me in the slightest.

Sad to say even rural ireland is dominated by * EPL fanboys :31:

My wife is English as is her daughter. They both support Celtic because of me. They have now influenced a few female work colleagues into supporting Celtic as well.
All are English. -

Lot of people had Celtic as their second team growing up but I was the only one who really supported them in my year, good few real fans where I live who are 5 or 6 years older than me.

Only had one other Celtic fan in my entire year in school. Would have had the odd person who said Celtic was there second team aswell.
Cant stand when people ask me who I support and I say Celtic and they then ask 'Ye but who do you support in the Premier League?', shitebags. -

It came up with a derby forum on him being linked to us,it wasn't nothing out of the ordinary and only had a nose but comments like 'who would ever want to play for them' and 'why leave when we could be in the premier league next year to play for them' :56:
Another deluded set..
Premier league :56:,as if there already there, they have as much chance and probably less than about 10/12 others..
Didn't know there was lots of scots and Irish in reading, any reason for that?
South east and south in general has celtic fans and pubs all over.. -

I was the only Celtic fan in my year, used to get so much * for it. If anything though it made me love Celtic even more. The biggest CSC in the north-west of England is in Preston, so there's a few about. Just not at my school. Used to get all them questions thrown at me. * em though. I'm a Celtic fan, I don't need to justify my support.
