Just interested to see how far back you lot feel this goes back? Where were the first signs of this absolute shambles? First Hun game in October? Ferencvaros? The treble treble game when Lenny was appointed? Even further than that even? It’s just clear to me that this is something that has been bubbling beneath the surface for more than just a few months...

This started last season,we got lucky and the huns collapsed. But the RAT leaving and dembele going was the start of the end.

Interesting question that depends on how you want to look at it.
In my opinion, Lawwell has been severely out of date since the end of the Strachan era.
We lost 3 titles in a row while they were going bankrupt. Although Lennon mounted a comeback in that 4th season, it was against McCoist’s Rangers and they were literally in their death throes.
Lennon continued to be average after they died, then Deila was equally poor. Rodgers coming in had nothing to do with Lawwell then when Lawwell got control back, this happened.
Bottom line, Lawwell has been here 10 years longer than he should simply because the Huns died 10 years ago. Now that there is a decent challenge again we’re back to 2010.
Lawwell must go, like he should’ve went in 2010 if not for their liquidation.Ak1, MagicBallBhoy, G_portillo and 11 others like this. -

Treble Treble day, should have parted ways at that moment because the games he took charge of before that were a shocking run of performances as well as a number of poor results, there should have never been grounds for him getting the job on a permanent basis.

It officially began, when Pete strolled into the showers, soaked the end of towel and cracked it off the end off Lennons *, saying its all yours, just tell me how much snus you want!
Further warning signs include, players given long stretches of days off unnecessarily and rumours of players hiring their own fitness coaches. Supplemented by admittance he doesn't watch games back or do analysis of them.
The beginning of the end should have been against Ferencvaros. But some how the humiliation has continued. 33% win percentage in last 18 games. (See last 400 pages of Lennon thread for the multitude of errors, mistakes and ineptitude, which none of his his fault to add to this never ending * show)
The twist of this tale is....it ain't over yet!........
Edit: it probably started further back with Lawell and his shithousery. To * of to think about it now.dmac, charlietully, Wee Baldy and 3 others like this. -
The Showeres at Hampden on treble treble day. Think Lennon rode the Rodgers wave to capture the league and cup the fallowing season. When football stopped all the muscle memory from Rodgers system reset and the players came back playing at the level of Lennons managerial ability.
I firmly believe that’s what’s happened and that gives me hope that with the right appointment we could be back to dominating again but we can all see tho there’s a massive transition and rebuild on the horizon. Please get the next manager right.Gil-Scott Heron, celticdaft238, MagicBallBhoy and 7 others like this. -

Think he might not be too far off on just the third post. -
Probably the day we reappointed Lennon in all honesty. The first time I said I wanted him gone was after Ferencvaros. That wasn't the first time I'd questioned if he was the man to take us forward, but that was the last straw for me.

A couple of years into Rodgers. About the McGinn failure time.

They went out their way to sicken Bobo by freezing him out the team and making him play with the reserves. During an injury crisis they turned to him to play at Tanndice and we got our first clean sheet in ages as he collected MOTM.
Part of Bobo's financial exit package was a non-disclosure agreement meaning he couldn't legally give the specifics of what went on.James Mc, Dallas Cowbhoys, RiquelmeCSC and 5 others like this. -
Rodgers and Dembele.

As was captain Jackie McNamara, who was offered (as far as I recall) somewhere in the region of £5-10k p/w contract) - no wonder he told Lawwell to go * himself and jumped to Wolves.James Mc, Foley1888, FrankMcCallum and 3 others like this. -
The Phoenix Black Lives Matter
Probably summer 2018 tbh
We were badly unprepared for the CL qualifiers, humiliated by the John McGinn farce, missed out on all the manager's top targets leading to a clearly * off manager openly questioning the ambition of the board at a press conference. The bizzare signing Mulumbu and the Dembele fiasco summed up an absolutely disastrous transfer window, despite the club having generated over 60million in profits over the two previous seasons.
We went from the incredible high of a double treble in May to this shitstorm in the face of a few months.
It was clear, long before he left, that this was Rodgers' last season. It just came as a shock that he left mid-season.
All of this discontent was sown in the summer of 2018.
Then when Rodgers did leave at least we had plenty of time to scout out suitable replacements, but the lazy, cheap, unprofessional option was taken instead. Lawwell was pictured grinning and giving it the big thumbs up at Tynecastle the day after Rodgers walked out. He couldn't have been more delighted.
Worryingly, Lennon was openly in awe of the changes Rodgers had implemented at Lennoxtown when he came back- and said so at the time. Alarm bells should have been ringing at that point. He might have been an acceptable inteirm choice but under no circumstances should it have gone beyond that. Hibs players were speaking openly about the positive changes in atmosphere when Lennon was sacked.
But just to epitomise our descent into an amateurish clownshow, we ended up giving the failed ex-Hibs boss the full time gig in the showers at Hampden on the back of an uninspiring cup final win.
The roll back in professionalism since that point has been frightening, though entirely foreseeable. This is not one of those moments where things only become apparent with hindsight. This day was always coming.
That's why fans are justifiably angry. This has nothing to do with "entitlement " or losing one cup or one league. It's the industrial scale levels of arrogance, incompetence, delusion and self-sabotage which have destroyed what should have been one of the great seasons in our history. The Klan did not win a thing, it was us who handed it to them. That's on Lennon and Lawwell, that's their legacy. This completely avoidable disgrace will supercede all previous successes.James Mc, Gil-Scott Heron, FranceCelt and 23 others like this. -

When lawwell saw his power threatened by a guy who would always carry more clout with supporters than he could dream of, he didn't want it to ever happen again so when he got lucky with that guy * off he made sure to get Lennon who would never ever challenge him had enough goodwill with supporters and could be the fall guy if it went * up without him coming out and slating the board because hes just so lucky he ended up here in the first place.
