We need grit determination laedership and management, but we are not getting any of this on or off the park, this comes from Board downwards, we need quality on the park and at board level.
This season in my opinion will turn out like last season unless some one has directive and moves us forward instead of backwards making us a laughing stock of Europe
Discuss we need grit determination and leadership. in the Celtic Chat area at TalkCeltic.net.

Fully agreed.
And we're already a laughing stock. Commentators chuckling at our attempts in possession, English managers having to mask their opinions in case they say something people won't like, etc. -

As far as i am aware they couldn't give a rats * if they offend anyone - not least our team in a Mickey Mouse league.
@ the OP. Do you actually have anything positive to say about the club you supposedly support? :87: -
Cairnsy, I'm going to take your advice from that other thread, and not read your post, just in case it's a pile ae pish. :50:
Seriously though, I feel we have got quality at board level, but I agree we need leadership on the park. Don't think the Broonster is providing it...
As for the laughing stock of Europe, thankfully Rangers and Hearts have drawn fire away from us.
I think if we get through in place of Sion, we will surprise a couple of the richer teams in that group... -

We are not far away from being the best we can be at the moment. Forget the money. Even if we had tons of it, nobody wants to come and play in our * league. We have little to offer them. * league, no Europe, low wages and having to go to Dunfermline. They would prefer to sit on an EPL bench than come to us now. We can't strengthen that much more. Bellamy was never coming. Not now. When he did, it was a different time. But Scotland has sunk much lower since. We can't get decent players here. The odd one if your lucky.
We can only compete at SPL level and lower Europa League level now. I was moaning hardcore about it last week, but after talking to a few people I've started to see why we are so *. We have nothing to offer a quality foreigner. They don't care about medals if all they say is SPL or Scottish Cup. Money is far more important.
But I honestly don't beleive it will be like that forever, like some in the media are saying. I think Scotland will come back in football and Celtic on the euro stage too.
It will take soo much time though. -

We need quality not buzz words like grit and determination, we have plenty of that.

How many years has it been that a ball has been punted well over our defenders ha ha that is a joke and we have still not corrected it or told our defenders do not get sent off in the first minutes:31:

The epl has 25 man squads and 20 teams, thats 500 players right there. Then they have fringe players. They are not the only top level league. All the quality is hovered up now by these goliaths, that can offer better than our top wages, for even the lowest rung of player.
I wasn't being negative in respects that I don't think we can be better. Just that it is hard as * now. -

Thinking about it, how the * can we compete when EUFA structure the CL towards the wealthiest biggest drawing clubs? Hopefully this finance fair play policy works, but cannot see it unless clubs like Man City are prevented getting millions just for "re-branding" their stadium?
We have punched above our weight before, but all SFA clubs NEED to restructure, a 16 team league, summer football or all-weather pitches for worst offenders (that'd be you Motherwell)
A limit on foreign imports with a focus on developing Scots lads technically/tactically, safe standing sections, and ticket prices slashed to fill stadiums, especially getting younger fans who will identify and grow with their club.
The German model is superb! granted bigger TV revenue and bigger clubs/more mean more competition for trophies, but I remember when I used to get Bundesliga games on Setanta that a commentator said it was the best supported league in the world? following their rebooting policies we see why.
Also look at the great improvement focussing on youth has helped the Germans (imo the best team to watch in WC 2010) We have Lennoxtown, Rankers have Murray Park; Dons have a new Public Sports village which I play footie in and is superb!
Will the SFA/Clubs do this? public pressure can help its our * national game! HH!:50::shamrock: -

there are players out there in our league, that would add a bit of spit to our team, it is only after really studying these players, that are about, not saying all, but there are some that would give our side a bit of fight, players like Garry Teal, Andy Driver. Youl Mawene, you would get a shift out of them for the not so glamorous games. 3 replacements 2 for Dan,and Brown, the other Teal for when there are 10 men behind the ball.

i believe its a valid point to bring in players that know the enviroment there playing in....a lot of these guy,s coming in have no clue of the pace ..or the media coverage thats gonna be splurged upon us ...why spend millions when we can bring in home grown talent ...after all its lennon,s job to help these guys to improve as footballers...and this sitts along comfortable with what jock stein done ,..and thats no bad model...evn jansen done this.....

Tbh I think the reason in our recent slump in form has been that we don't seem to be as passionate as last season. The players just don't look as game as they were. Maybe it was the whole us against the SFA/SPL and everyone else, almost like a seige mentality.
We need to find that fluidity, the passion and desire to win matches at all costs. We've looked pretty stale and not up for it. Hopefully soon that will come back.
