Good news :50:

Mark Guidi will be suicidal reading that. He has been selling him for the last year in his "paper".
Be a big boost if he did stay though. -
He won't sign a contract extension but he wants to stay? Aye very good.
He'll be away in the summer. -

Celtic can get a bit of money for him and go scouting again for the next big thing.
-
He only has a year left on his contract...?
Thought his contract wasn't done for another couple of seasons -

He will go in the summer.

I wouldn't be adverse to him leaving but of all our players he is the one I would like to keep.
Young, only going to get better and a beast in his position. Hooper can be replaced as can Forster although both would be huge tasks for the scouting team to unearth players of that quality for tuppence ha'penny. -

Key bit here is that he's leaving it to his agent. Lenny had said a few months ago that his agent seemed to be standing in they way of talks making progress while Vic seemed eager.
-
The quotes sound promising, but we have yet to receive a formal offer for him from any of the big English clubs, so it remains to be seen how great their interest in him is.
There is still every chance that a club like Man United will come in for him and his eyes will turn to pound signs. -
Would absolutely love it if he stayed....
-
Hopefully he's being honest and candid and it's not just a canned comment.
-
Funny, if this was an article in the same paper saying he wanted to leave, everyone would be analyzing quotes and calling bullshit.
He wants to sign a new contract, but knocked back our last extension offer? Fair enough mate. -

Not buying it, although it doesn't state how long he wants to stay for, it could be that he is willing to stay for the length of his current contract if a new deal isn't agreed, as opposed to staying for the rest of his career.
I think it would only be worth holding on to him if champs league football was guaranteed. If we miss on maybe ten mil for him and only have the spl next season it will be pointless. Saying.that though, hopefully this seasons champs league money means we can invest a little in keeping certain players if we choose too. -

To me that reads as, if an EPL club or such who is in the CL makes an offer he'll be off 100% if not he'll stay.
-
If he isn't prepared to sign a new deal then it isn't in our best interests to keep him past the summer IMO. The money we will make from him could help us strengthen the team even further. We have practically built our current team on the transfer fee of McGeady. The team we have currently, does not need anywhere near the same amount of changes. We could easily bolster the squad and have change left over.
