Ive had this argument with my friends and relatives hundreds of times. My point has always been that we should hold off buyin players only one or two and concentrate on getting the family stand changed to full capacity. We would be the biggest Club stadium in UK but some people I spoke to said we couldnt fill it? Whats the curent waiting list for a season ticket?
Local schools and charitys could benefit from matchday tickets, wed easily make back the money we spent if we were in the champs league! imagine 80,000-90,000 celtic fans on euro nites? Revenue and sales would benefit and make CP a host for several competitions. Then surely the Premiership will be a big possibility teams will WANT to play at CP!

I agree with the other people, the atmosphere at home games nowadays is utter pish, adding another extra 10,000 empty seats isn't going to help. Only time they would be used would be Old Firms and European Games and I don't believe that we should expand the stadium just for these games.

Fair point
But the people who are there at home games are the same crowd but if u introduce the waiting supportters it could change things. The supporters who dont attend home games against smaller teams should be forced to give up tickets the supporters who are part time... The small games are just as important we learned at the wend. And being from Ireland it bugs me cause i cant get tickets and I would make full use if I could of a season book..plus there are alot more asian supporters in Glasgow?? More seats... -

Even still, home games against 'smaller' teams are not that hard to get tickets for, it shows with the amount of empty seats. Every weekend you see people outside the stadium trying to sell tickets. I don't think expanding the stadium would help, it would just make our support look bad and lose even more of the little atmosphere we have at games.

I dont think we need to expand the size of the stadium but i do think the old stand needs to be upgraded to bring stadium up to scratch. The old stand looks out of place in my opinion and a face lift would be the icing on the cake for CP.

If they put like a revolving retaurant and a bar (jokin) at the top of the stand along with statues of past players I would like to see a statue of Henrik

I do think the stadium is missing a centre piece but what that would be i dont know, for now though we need to concentrate on the team and the building of the new training facility.

I think we use the fund to other facilities, more than Paradise.
Paradise, it's 60,000 capacity is great enough. Even though the Old Firm Game makes full access but we need other facilities grown..
See the Training Facility. the *' huns Murray Park is good thing (even their players suck, I mean only the facility).. and we must take our Training Facility even more greater than dat... Great training facilities makes the players more comfortable when they're in Training. So that can make change, even it's not so big, but it's positive thing. So IMO raising the capacity of Paradise is not the first priority... -
not the first priority agreed but it would still be nice at some point in the future to have an eighty or ninety thousand capacity. don't you agree?

I think in time we should look to be having it 2 tiers like The North Stand all the way round, If we had problems filling it in the smaller games we could reduce Ticket prices in certain areas that's what Barcelona do and look at how many fans they get, in a Hun game and big European Night we'd get 80,000 fans easily anyway (Which is what it would be if it was expanded in this way), and I think we'd sell another 20,000 Season Tickets easily if The Capacity went to 80,000.

It should be upgraded. We could get more corporate sponsors too.
-
its a tough one this
do we upgrade and risk some more empty seats at the expensive of somthing else or do we spend the money elswhere its got me thinking anyway
Pro's
look at the likes of Barca they have a great stadium which is vary rarley full but ppl dont talk about that they just say what a great stadium and yes if we upgraded we would need a center piece of some-sort somthing good for the stadium witch is steeped in celtic
cons
mayb loose funds on players / wages or even a training facillity, possibly even more loss of atmosphere.... and i would lose that good view from my seat :34:
p.s as for selling season tickets to more fans and all this about a waiting list i dont know if this has any significance but my uncle isnt on the waiting list and at the start of the season got sent a letter offering him a book ( he used to have one) also why are they selling ones now for the rest of the season if there is such a big que?Last edited by a moderator: Dec 2, 2005 -
CP is only given a four star rating and so can't hold a European whearas Ibrox and Hampden is. The staduim definately should be upgraded. Sometimes you need to spend money to get money as our corporate and sponsorship facitilites could get us back the money we spend.
