Alright guys, sorry to the fella who ask where in dundee it was held..it was held in the celtic boys club lochee(my connection was down couldnt post). Anyways just back from the q n a with Lennon and Lawell and it was actually pretty good, straight forward answers from both.
Main points from them were.......................
Hooper very close to signing tomorrow,
Absolutely NO CHANCE of signing Keane OR Bellamy (wages were "astronomical"),
McCourt WILL sign a new two-year contract,
James will be no.1 if signed,
More or less said that Samaras will be sold at the first decent offer(no concrete bids yet),
Lennon wants McGeady(however the club cannot refuse fantastic bid in regions of £10m)
Celtic have only spent £3m so far in transfers(£2m for Juarez, £1m for Murphy the rest freebies...from Lennons mouth)
Lennon wants another 3 signings...GK, LB, CB
Scott Brown will remain captain unless someone else signed becomes captain(lennon does not believe anyone in current squad is capable of taking the armband instead of Brown)
More focuse is being put upon the youth academy(lennon believes 2 or 3 players will break through into the first team this season with Forrest being his main hope, Misun and filipe Twardzik being the others)
Believes that Maloney will be a key player for us this season (if/when fit)
Also Lawell gave us the truth in regards to the Stephen Fletcher signing....that Hibs never gave us a price, we offered £4m+, but Hibs replied that Fletcher will be sold to Celtic AT NO PRICE WHATSOEVER!!!!!!!Fact.
Also Lennon tols us that Celtic will AT NO POINT be held to ransom by any player(i.e Campbell, Bullard etc) although he went for these players as he still thinks he needs a leader at CP.
Vuvuzelas! Lawell expressed his dissapointment at these being sold at CP(was done by in-house marketing), told us that he personally HATES them and that only 300 or so had been sold and Celtic do not plan to sell anymore!
Stuart Baxter- Lennon admitted that he is still inexperienced at managers level but is confident his backroom team will b suffice, although the club are still looking for an "advice figure" that lennon can communicate with in any issues he feels he needs help in..but this advisor WILL NOT! be appointed as a director of football at CP!
And finally...Lennon informed us that in him, we have a manger who will fight every corner for us, bleed, sweat and do everything he possibly can for Celtic. He is sure that Rangers will "pull a couple of rabbits out of the hat" in terms of signings and will have to make sure his squad is up t ANY challenge put forward by them. And also any team he puts on the park will be a team o fighters to be willing to put their bodies on the line for Celtic.Last edited by a moderator: Jul 25, 2010 -
