the fact that Lawwell said that Bellamy and Keane aren't coming suggests they made an attempt to sign one of them and were, unfortunately, out of our price range. Maybe i'm being paranoid or just daft but i'm not sure i believe the Fletcher story. Lawwell has always stated he tried to sign Fletcher etc but has never made this claim before now, even when asked at previous meetings. Plus Hibs were happy to accept £4million from us for Brown 18 months previously yet rejected it a 18 months later? They were also happy to accept £2.5 million from Burnley for him instead of the possible £4million. Sounds a bit dodgy imo. Can't really fault Lawwell otherwise, he has been open about anything asked to him at these events.

Absolutely NO CHANCE of signing Keane OR Bellamy (wages were "astronomical"),

Lennon was asked about the possibility of Gallas by a SSN reporter and he never denied it at all and he's a top premier league player on around 90 grand a week as well so i don't know... selling of mcgeady and boruc combined may be enough to cover it as Bellamy's price tag is only 3/4 million  although i admit it looks highly unlikely :54:

HHmm very intresting reading, for one im happy and I know a ball has not been kicked I do feel the club is moving in the right direction again.

Lennon is always very honest which is brilliant, the finances of our great club is also in a good way hich is also really important so yes im very optimistic at the moment.

Lenny and Lawell have played a blinder with these meetings, they really have.

Nothing but positive feedback from all of these meetings.

With regards to McCourt i really cant see how they will say mcCourt will sign a new contract in a Q&A session ..Our club has always tried to be very secretive about any signings or contract extensions...

I don't see a problem with telling the fans before the press and after being at a q+a myself it was clear to see the lawells loathing of the press for the publicity we receive if we could we would not let them know anything fair play to them

There is a difference he didnt need to say "No Comment" ....To say he "Will Sign" when he hasnt made his mind up yet could backfire on Lawwell big time , should have answered it with "discussions are ongoing we would obviously like him to sign"

Thought Lawwell was more intelligant than the 1st answer !!

Yup, you don't want to come out and say something only for the player to change his mind, along the lines of a completely hypothetical... ''we are signing this player, he will be a revelation and destroy every team in the league...what do you mean you want more money?!? We offered you 6 fruit pastels a week, INCLUDING THE RED ONE!...* off then Eagles ya *''

I think saying they would accept any bids for Sammy is a bit disrespectful towards the guy. He has had a great end to the season and I'm sure he'll kick on from that, well....I hope so anyway
