    McGeady may yet leave- Venus

Mark Venus has been interviewed just now on SSN and said that he may go if the right bid comes in.

It may very well be Bye-Bye Aiden before 31st Jan.

I feel that a substantial offer has already come in and they are trying to lessen the blow, by hinting before confirmation.

Either that, or he has been asked the question and he's just implying that only silly money will see him go, thus making other clubs aware that don't bother try making an insulting bid.

Not buying a striker is one thing but selling our best player when we apparently don't have to sell is another.

If they get 15 million for him let him go the guy just runs about all day with no end product.

I agree Mick, he isn't giving us enough, I have no doubt that he will eventually sort this aspect of his game out but he may need to leave, in order to achieve it.

I just think anything over £10 million is stupit money for a player like him.

    I reckon that's exactly what's happening here.

I agree with you mick. I don't think the January window is the right time to sell him though and if clubs in the Premiership want him badly enough they will come back in for him in the summer anyway.

Whoever said just let him go for the right money must be on crack. Who are we going to buy? Just say we got 10 mil for him (doubtful), We wouldnt get all that to spend on 1 replacement anyway, and lets be honest - if Mcgeady played for another team, even a championship team the way he does for us, how much would we offer for him? Alot - but prob wouldnt get him due to the price plus wages. He's better than anyone we'd get for a replacement. Wait till he goes, or gets injured and see how much we do need/miss him

I hope we don't sell him but if we do, it should be ASAP so we can spend the money. There would be no point in selling him on the 31st as we wouldn't have time to bring in new players.

Let's just put you straight on the first point, I can't speak for anyone else
here but I am most certainly not on crack.
Back to the real point, we wouldn't accept less than 10m for him I'm certain of that but anything more and we would have to seriously look at it.

ok, appologise for the crack comment . . . Just find it hard to believe that, with the state our team are in atm why on earth we'd want to sell our most entertaining player? Without him we'd really struggle. Who, realistically in your opinion would come to Celtic and do just as good a job?

We build our team round a player who isnt direct and has very little end product? McGeady could do step overs all day and he'd do nothing with it. You could replace McGeady for £2 million easily.

we should accept no less than 15 million for him given the inflated nature of the transfer market; only then would i think about selling him but only if it is reinvested back in the team

also if come january 31 some team comes in at the 11th hour we should hold firm and not sell him otherwise we risk letting one of our best players go with no time to get a replacement

i'm still amazed that some fans who were raving about him through November and December now want him sold!! how fickle can you get, just because of one below par game v falkirk!!?? :31:
