Driver is good, i agree. Not as good as McGeady, in my opinion which is why there arent big offers coming him from right now. Also I think i remember seeing a quote somewhere that romanov values him at 4 or 5 mill. I cant comment on adam johnson because ive not seen enough of him. He looks good from what ive seen but never jumped right out. Mcginn and Mccourt are good players but not at mcgeadys standard - Imagine what McGeady was to do if he only had 10 - 20 mins off the bench. He'd just attack, attack, attack and create just as much chances as anyone.

Any news on Pedersen? Are we still interested? If yes, this may influence the board to sell Aiden

mowbray's realised that mcginn is a suitable replacement for mcgeady

10 million plus is a good deal, would hate to see him go though

With the results we have been having lately, i dont think it would make a difference. I would rather have 10 million + and lose the league than £0 and lose the league. McGeady is not going to be winning titles on his own anytime soon, i would rather take the money and re-invest most of it.

All I can say is this........

If the board do sell Aiden in this transfer window they better have someone special coming in before the window shuts. After the debacle of last January the fans will snap if Aiden is sold and there is no quality signing(s) to take his place.

Be warned Messrs Desmond, Reid and Lawwell!

Is it just me thats been completely unimpressed by McGinn aside the Rapid game, selling McGeady at this point in the season would be madness and as far as I'm concerned would be an admission by the board that the league is already over!

Our best team at the start of the season would have included Caldwell, McGeady and Robson and yet we have still ended up nine points behind the huns with these players in the team, we've already sold two of those and it's questionable whether we have adequately replaced them. Sell Mcgeady as well I dread to think how far behind we'll be by the end of the season!

    I was only messing.:50:

I don't know who would entertain us, but there is certainly players out there who can beat players AND have a final output.

i feal mixed about selling mcgeady i feal he loves the club and would not want to leave but his form is hot and cold like a few players at celtic just now if we could get a replacement that would be consistent with good form i would sell

Can I just point out, if you knew me on here, you would realise that i am one of McGeady's biggest critics, I have been since before I joined this forum.

I do think he has improved this season but he is still a final ball away from being a great player.

We do have other players, I really am a fan of the other 3 (Maloney, McCourt and McGinn) but i personally don't think our team would be as good without McGeady. He's the best out of them on the wings but also if we wanted to go all out attack, we could have him behind 2 strikers and 2 of the other 3 on the wings - Either way, think we need him more than the money we'd end up getting.

    More brainless management from Celtic.

Yeah, wait until the club is on the ropes then announce he's for sale. Eck will come back with a 7m offer this time...probably at about 11.55pm on the 31st.

McGeady should be sold anyway. Great technique - but what use is that when he can't finish a packet of crisps?

Never seen a worse finisher who has so much skill in my entire life.

We need to sell him anyway to compensate Mowbray when he's sacked after Walter ties up the League this weekend.

I can't think of a better player in the league than Aiden McGeady.

The problem with him is people expected a world-class player after O'Neill likened him to Ronaldinho when he scored on his debut. We saw him give AC Milan a torrid time and I think it's safe to say we were all excited. Problem is, that team had far better players than this one so he was under less pressure. Now he is our main man and we over-rely on him, and teams double up on him.

We can't afford to sell him now unless it is stupid money (£12m+). He is the best player to come out of this country for a while and we should be looking to build a team with him, not without.

have u seen a handsome hun
aiden must look around the dressing room and think he's the only one with a bit of true quality.
it must be depressing when you realise that your defence is so pish that you may need to score twice just to get a draw.
but....we've always went on after our heroes leave. we all thought the world had caved in when the following list of players left.....but a new hero arrived.
    dalgliesh
    nicholas
    pierre
    di canio
    larsson.

if aiden goes.....good luck to him.
i dont think there will ever be many like paul mcstay who loved the club and didnt leave.
aiden has professed his love for celtic time and again.
    lets see what happens.
i do however have a vision in my head of the angry villagers with pitch forks banging down the front door of celtic park if aiden leaves during this window.
you have to ask yourself if our so called club has been pulling the wool over our eyes with regards to the sound financial setting we are supposedly on.
at least the huns know where they stand. ( knee deep in * )
are we as comfortable financially as we're being told.
i'd also expect a backlash in next seasons attendances if we fail to secure the league and sell our best players.
    its gonna get interesting.

Cant blame the fella for going when you see the lack of quality in the team at the moment , So come on Lawell spend some money and bring better players into the team .
