I think he has improved a lot over last season and this season has probably been Liverpool's best player. He used to look very bad, gave the ball to the other team too many times and did not tackle as much. I just saw him against Manchester City where he was the best player by far, made so many tackles and good passes. Best defensive midfielder in the premiership?

Hes been great for a while now, used to think he was * too :52:
I think he cost about 1/3 of what Ramires and Anderson cost Chelsea and Man U as well and they're two dumpliings. -

They coulda had Scott Brown off us for half that price easy. -
Scott Brown :56:, surely you're not putting him on a par with Ramires. -

I compare him to Scott Brown as he's very similar, great pace and work rate but lacks composure and is let down by the technical side of the game. Not suited to playing in the middle of the park and works best on the right of midfield. I would say they're really close in terms of ability too. They are about £6million players not near Chelsea class more Newcastle, Everton.
I also disagree that his ball control and dribbling is class, if its class what is someone like Forrests never mind McGeady or McCourt.
If Ramires played for us he wouldnt even be one of our best players. -
He's improved but he's not the best defensive midfielder in the PL. Essien is better than him when he's fit, Nigel De Jong is better than Lucas.

For a centre-mid his dribbling ability is very good. He's very good on the ball and at carrying the ball forward. -
Was this guy no just made a scapegoat for Liverpool being poor ? never thought he was that bad. For all I watch English football though.

He would be a good player at our level like Brown or a mid or bottom half Premiershup side but hes not Chelsea and Brazil quality, more like Norway and Bolton quality. -

Fantastic player and hope he keeps it up. Just shows he is doing well when he is getting a started place in the Brazil team.

Most improved player in the EPL over the last two seasons. I'll be the first to admit I slated the guy but he's stuck in and become one of the first names on the teamsheet.
Knowing Liverpool they'll probably sell him to a rival in the summer.
I still can't believe that they sold Meireles, their best player last season, and signed Jordan Henderson, Charlie Adam etc. In saying that they should have given Aquilani more of a chance to adapt, he would have been brilliant for them. This would have been a brilliant, dynamic front six:
Lucas Aquilani
Downing Meireles Bellamy
Suarez

Its good for the Brasilian national team how well he's playing, they need a solid Defensive Mid in their team.

Some improvement from the lad. A few years back I dreaded watching him play, thought he was absolute garbage.
Fair play to him though really upped his game, deserves the praise he is now getting. -
He's part of the reason I will no longer watch a Liverpool game. Pish football philosophy, since coming to the British game. I'm surprised they didn't sell him in the summer. Their positional signings summed him up...would be surprised if he's improved much.
