i thought we had a good thing in thompson but after that game during the week i change my mind.his lack of pace was embarrassing.and before people say it was only 1 game.thats ok till the next time it happens.would you really feel comfortable with him playing in the cl for us?is it posssible for him to get any faster really?i know he can improve his positioning with experience but his severe lack of pace would always worry me

Im with you mate,Dont really rate him atall. Not celtic standard.
-
-
i dont rate him...he's about as mobile as a three legged camel.
-
He's only young. He wasn't brought in to play in the first team he was only supposed to be a youth player for now. Hopefully by the time Europe comes around we'll have Loovens, Hooiveld and Rogne back and also a new defender who will all probably be in front of him
You don't really need to be fast to be a decent SPL defender anyway (see: Weir) so as he gets more experience hopefully he starts using his brains more -
fair enough....you may not need the pace...but if you havent you need the experience......and as you said he's just a bhoy...maybe one for the future.......but not at celtic park i'd wager.
-
you cant really blame the lad, he was poor on wednesday and the fault lies with the board in my opinion.the whole squad was poor aswell
he was brought in for the future and was bought for coppers, he then found himself in at the deepend due to injuries, this is the result of penni pinshing once again
And to top it all off, all those players who were * aswell need to follow TM out the door, if they dont want to play with there heart on there sleeve then they can * off now too -
I've said consistently he shouldn't be in our 1st team.
1) He has * all experience, at any level
2) He is slow as a week in the jail
3) He looks clumsy on the ball
But as always with defenders, some folk just take a look at his height and say "Yes, excellent defender - 6 foot 4 and built like a brick shithouse."
Unfortunately, half the time they've got about the same footballing talent as a brick shithouse. -
-
Everyone was * on wednesday & i personaly think if Boruc was in goal we wouldnt have went down 4 - 0
-
You rated him then after one bad game (Where the whole team was abysmal) you don't rate him anymore? Bit harsh.
-
has a lot of potential but as of yet, has looked a bit shakey. Couldn't review anyone after the other nite, none of them turned up!!

unreal...
give the young lad a chance...he is a rookie and was never expected to play this season...
added to this the fact he hasn't had a decent centre half or left back in the same defence as him
to criticise JT and write him off as not 'celtic class' is nothing short of preposterous -

i just think that if your * when your 18....you probably gony be * when your 21,25,30
would loan him out to another spl team next season and see how he gets along but just think the lack of pace isnt suited to our league -
NOT CELTIC STANDARD to many of our support our backing second rate players. We as supporters must expect better .
Most of our team our second rate players. Our scouting needs to improve.
Darren o dea perfect example, backed by our support but cant get a game in the championship. NOT GOOD ENOUGHT. -
For * sake, lay off him. Hes been thrown in at the deep end and everyone of the team id under achieving this season. He like all the team have had good games and bad games. Its abit unfair to single him out in a thread. He didnt have a fit rightback beside him during the week. The goal keeper is not our best. Cut the bhoy some slack. He was signed for the future and has been thrown in without any expiernce. Personally, I think hes been good in more games than hes been bad.

I will say he was exposed on Wed with no mid field to defend him
A team needs build from the back you should have great defenders . with equally as good stand ins if needed.
