    Hearts tonight issued the following statement:

    Heart of Midlothian FC can confirm that a full investigation into the events which took place in the second half of tonight's game against Celtic is underway.

    Hearts is a club which prides itself on its "football for all" policy and these sorts of actions have no place in the game of football.

    We will give our full support to the stewards and the police authorities in the ensuing investigation into the events at tonight's match.

    No apology. Jefferies when asked on sky about the controversy he ignored the Neil Lennon incident. When asked directly about the incident he deflected the blame to the sending off and the vile atmosphere in the ground. He want on to say that the atmosphere is usually good, in other words the sour atmosphere was the fault of Celtic fans.

    Slightly disagree. What he did say was to ask as to how it was possible for a fan to have been able to get on undetected, so he did point the finger at his club's security (or lack thereof). It was brief, but he did comment on that aspect. Then he went on to deflect attention away, to the referee & the first red card etc.

    And what has this to do with this thread .

    That statement was handed in about 2 mins after the game finished so Hearts felt they had to say something quickly ,Jim Jefferies ,NeilMcCann said it was shocking to see this in football and i dare say a lot of other Managers will back this ,someone is for the high jump on this at Tynecastle as it was seen to be far to easy for that * to get as far as he did.

    The first line of any statement from Hearts should have read 'After tonights incident, HoMFC would like to make an unreserved apology to Neil Lennon & his backroom staff'

    It's absolutely disgusting that this one doesn't.
