I hope he goes.....not because he isn't good enough for Celtic, cause I think he is, but cause of the * he has to put up with from our 'support'. I'm sick of the constant Samaras bashing, both on here and in the stands. The man doesn't deserve half the flak thrown at him.
Hope he goes on and becomes a top player...ram his critics words down their throats. -
good, i believe one of the commentators yesterday on the greece game said he looks not intrested? and its the world cup *, i greece done rubbish yesterday but samaras dident help one bit, just the topping

I don't think he'll exactly fit in under Lennon.
It is too bad, if the guy finds some consistency he'll be a great player. If we can find someone better to replace him then I won't raise *. However, if we just rely on Fortune all year instead (and I'm not proven wrong in thinking Sammy is better than him) then I'll be *.
the treatment he gets from the support is sickening too. It really shows how badly Scots value 'dig' over most other qualities in their footballers. Then they wonder why the majority of their players lack technical skills.Last edited by a moderator: Jun 13, 2010 -

well perhaps if he shown interest in every game he played he wouldnt get bashed as you say! he runs about like a headless chicken at times and looks as though he doesnt want be there and misses some crazy chances to boot! this isnt personal! its the way it is and this is a results buisness and keeping players like him wont help that cause.Last edited by a moderator: Jun 13, 2010 -
When he's on form he's a real threat, and for a spell when he played with McDonald up front he looked great, but if Lennon thinks he's too weak a player for what he's looking for, then it's time to move him on.
He wouldn't be in my starting 11. -

Glad he's going I agree he doesn't deserve some of the abuse he gets but he isn't consistent enough and I think Burley got it spot on for once when he said that you just don't know what Samaras is going to turn up.Btw did anyone here that commentator say that the city fans used to call Samaras tragedy didn't know that lol.

He's got the potential to be a cracking player but just doesn't show it often enough. It's a shame because I do like the big chap and he's shown on more than a few occassions that he is "Celtic Class", unfortunatley, he won't be missed.

Too inconsistent. One second a brilliant player, the next minute he's a big useless donkey

The guy had 12 goals and and 2 assists from 27 starts, playing from the wing often, in an absolutely struggling Celtic team. thats just under a goal every other game he started.
believe it or not aside from 1 season 05-06 (where he ran riot), Chris Sutton's return for the club was a just under a goal every other game.
However, Sutton was in a winning Celtic team with suitable strike partners. Sutton is considered a legend, a designation I agree with. Samaras is hounded at every turn.
My point is not that Sammy is a legend, its too make a point about how people judge strikers, especially, not on their individual production but more often in the context of the team's overall performance.
I think sammy has been scapegoated a good deal for a side that has underperformed as a whole and should shoulder the blame as a whole. -
Same mate cause if we were * buying him we'd have to pay at least 2.5 million or something.
