Bit of trivia to start the thread. (Unashamedly bumped aff twittor) Who was the Hoops’ Club Captain when you were born?
Mine was Danny McGrain.
Favourites? The Maestro for me very closely followed by Broony!
Billy is a given :62:
Noticed a debate about Broony and McStay in a thread earlier, who made the better captain? Not player, captain.

Not related to the thread, but just watched Celtic 2 v 0 real Madrid 1980. Captains all over the park. Not even sure.

Paul McStay was captain when I was born.
He retired the year after I was born so can’t comment on his quality as a captain unfortunately.
Brown, though, is the best captain we’ve had since for sure.Rendog and Marty McFly like this. -

Sure I seen Caldwell with the armband at one point? There must be a few belters who have had a shot -

Aye a few have "worn" it over the years, but only Big Mick and Broony have been the appointed captain since 2007Marty McFly likes this.

McStay captain when I was born, can only vaguely remember Tom Boyd being captain briefly and then from Lambert onwards.
On the subject of a few belters having the shot of the band, I remember when Brown was out injured long term under Lennon, we must’ve had at least 4 or 5 ‘vice captains’ that season. Kayal, Majstorovic, Ledley, Mulgrew and McCourt all off the top of my head -

Roy Aitken was captain when I was born.
Vague memories of McStay even though I saw him in the flesh several times.
Lennon is easily my favourite.
Boyd is the first captain I really remember and he'll always be the captain that stopped the 10. What a guy.
Lambert was a quality midfielder and was consistently good. McNamara was a stalwart and I was sad about the way it ended for him.
Neil Lennon is probably the most under appreciated and underrated player from MON's team.
McManus would always give 100% and captained one of my favourite title run ins in 2008.
Broony could potentially captain us to 10 in a row, but even if he doesn't, he's led the squad for so long and his influence at the club, on and off the pitch, clearly has a huge positive effect.McChiellini.. and Marty McFly like this. -

Paul McStay! Can't say I know much about him, but he's held in very high regards to most Celtic fans.

If you ever have time to watch this mate, give it a go. Old video but tells his story well :50:

McStay when I was born.
Got to say it's almost too close to call between Lennon and Brown for my favourite but gun to my head I'd have to go with Lennon given the horrific abuse and treatment he's had to put up with and still does.
