Paul McStay was the captain when I was born in 1994.

Paul Lambert was the first Celtic captain I remember watching when I was a kid, so I have a soft spot for him. Neil Lennon as well, particularly as I was on the Nakamura hype train as a 12 year old and Lennon was captain for quite a bit of Strachan's reign.

Broony's my favourite captain. If I had to go to war, I would choose Scott Brown to go into battle with me. Always reliable (unless he's hurt like *) and always counted upon to never give up.

McStay was captain when I was born.

Broony is my absolute favourite though. Never seen a single player effect a teams mentality so much.

Favourite? Broony definitely. Blessed with captains in my life time...from McStay onwards as I can remember him towards the end of his career, we've had 7 and 5 have been Celtic daft and the other 2......immense professionals and captain's who bought in to the club as player's. Broony still will after, unlike Lambert..

We have had some great captains. Pretty shocked we have had none from abroad.

Mcstay when i was born, although i didnt take much note in football untill Lambert was captain so he is the first one i really remember. Fav has to be Scott Brown but he's also been my fav player for past 7-8 years. Lennon has to be second fav, great player and captain.

Aye and based on the replies on each forum it looks like the average age of KDS users is about 20 years older than TalkCeltic.

    Auld tory *.

Was Henrik not captain/co-captain for his last season? Seemed to always be wearing the armband and went up first to lift trophies that season.

I#m sure Deila was passing it about like an old scud mag for a while.

Mine was King Kenny. Genuinely never knew he was Captain for a couple of years.

King kenny was captain when i was born. Didn't know that. But for me big roy aitken was the best. A great story i was told by an ex pro that i used to work with.Playing for ayr united at cp in the late 80s he near p halved chris morris got up to give the jungle some abuse only to realise big roy was heading straight for him ready to leather him. Ref stops him and he thinks hes got away with it until he hears big mick mcarthy shouting dont worry roy ill get the * this side. So he spent the rest of the game * himself begging to be subbed and says he never went up the tunnell faster in his life.

    Danny McGrain.

Going to plead ignorance here - I did not know that Billy McNeill passed the captaincy to Kenny Dalglish! Learn something new every day.

Glad I'm not the only one who didn't know Dalglish was Captain for a spell.
