With the talk of commons possibly going, I'm just thinking who really wants to be here? With us just destroying possibly the second best team in the league, and not investing for a run in Europe. We only have a handful of players who are here for the club. Guys like Gordon and stokes are not here through choice but because they don't have a better one. Performances like today and a wee run in Europe might change things. A good run of form and some results in Europe is really needed!

We are in the position now thanks to modern football that unless a player is a complete diehard fan, then they will eventually move on and look to bigger and better things.
The reality is we play in a * league with * teams in * wee stadiums who do * all in Europe apart from us and the wages paid are completely uncomparable to those paid out in other leagues.
For ourselves, the main pulling power we have to bring players is Champions League qualification, and that is much less of a certainty these days.
So no, I honestly can't blame anyone for leaving. I know that if I wasn't a Celtic fan and played for Celtic at this point in time I'd bolt out the door as soon as top division English, Spanish or German sides came calling. Much better wages in much better leagues.
I just wish we had a player in our squad who will stick with us for his whole career, through thick and thin. Maybe McGregor could be that player. -

I wouldnt be that bothered if Commons left, he's a reliable player. But I think Stokes and Griffiths are as good as him and we also have Forrest and McGregor who could be as good.
Commons doesnt do much in the CL, so it wouldnt be like losing a Boruc, Forster, Van Dijk, K.Wilson, Izaguirre, Hinkel, Matthews, Lustig, Brown, Ledley, Wanyama, Nakamura, Maloney, McGeady or Hooper. -

There was once a day that only the top 3-4 clubs in England could tempt top players from us and the likes of Roma, but now every club in the EPL and some in the championship can attrack quality no matter how * thier name/history projects.
Nothing can be done about it unfortunately except for the emergence of European leagues were they wouldn't want these * clubs in it. -
Money, money, money, moneyyyy.

Can't blame anyone for leaving when the club is replacing £5m, £10m and £12m players with free transfers, loans and pennies.
I guarantee you we'd see less players wanting to move if the club showed some impressive ambition. -
I don't blame any player for leaving if they go on to good things. Hooper trading us for Norwich City left a bitter taste in my mouth.
You can pick up the players who would happily see out their careers at Celtic from a distance: Lustig, Ambrose, Mulgrew, Izaguirre, Brown, Commons. I think Gordon and Johansen will be around for a while to come as well. -
I wouldn't blame any player who main goal in football is to earn massive money far more than their ability deserves moving to the EPL . Although many have left few have improved their football careers . Hooper left to go to Brazil via the EPL but now his English hopes are far away as ever. Instead of playing for Deila in Europe he is helping out Delia. Big Vic went to the Liverpool feeder club but he didn't get his move.

I just wish players were a more honest with the club and its fans...all this...love it here and we will work something out then the minute the phone ring they cant rush off quick enough.
Be like larsson...be upfront and honest. -
Look at Forster, he stayed as long as possible and gave us as much chance as he could, in the end we basically said to him "we're not going to give you a good reason to stay, we're just going to sell you or you can continue to play far beneath your level with a bunch of clueless numpties".
Ledley was another one. He even publically came out and basically begged for a new contract numerous times, yet we kept with our ridiculously negative costcutting measures and in the end last Jan Ledley had a choice - do I stay here where all my friends and fellow good players are leaving, or do I probably double my wages and play EPL football?
It's a no brainer. Unless we show some ambition things will keep going the same. The board are happy for us to be a feeder team for EPL clubs. -

Are you trying really hard to make sure you have not one single valid point?
What exact chance was Forster trying so hard to give us?
Absolutely * clueless :smiley-laughing002: :smiley-laughing002: :smiley-laughing002:
