Celtic U18s 0 Rangers U18s 5 as Kai Kennedy inspires Ibrox kids to huge Youth Cup win
Rangers ran away with the game in the second half as Celtic struggled to deal with the attacking threat of the young Ibrox side.
Rangers U18s battered their Celtic rivals at Broadwood in the second round of the Scottish Youth Cup.

The young Gers - with Kevin Thomson as a coach - stuck five past their bitter rivals with the likes of Leon King and Kai Kennedy grabbing goals.
There were also strikes from Nathan Young-Coombes, Ross McCausland and Ciaran Dickson in a dominating win for Rangers.

The closed-door game saw Rangers take the lead through the highly-rated King.

The youngster is wanted by the likes of Liverpooland Chelsea but put that aside to drill in the opener on 26 minutes.

Should be a wake up call somewhere along the line..

They're streets ahead at the younger age levels..

    It's pretty alarming..

Last season there was a tweet where their under 16's and 15's I think battered us at Lennoxtown 6 something and the other was a big score as well back to back same day..

We've seen where they've dominated us in the Glasgow cup game's 17's as well for a couple of year now..

We do seem to match them better where it counts though by producing better first team quality kid's but we can't get complacent. The well will eventually run dry if we continue to be second best to them at the earlier age group's..

They’re definitely miles better at youth level just now but their desperation to stop the 10 is making all that work pointless.

They’ve got some serious talent with the likes of McPake and King especially.

Worrying is the amount of Tims who feel they’re better getting coached in their academy than ours.

Watching us in the cup final hoofing it up the park all day was an embarrassment considering we had Dembele, Okoflex and Harper playing as a front 3 with Robertson in midfield.

McManus and now O’Dea, La Masia eat your heart out.

They easily seem better coached. You can see that when we play each other. We've got individual talent but they seem to have more of an idea of what they're doing. Our defences at under age level is usually abysmal..

Aye it's all well and good them having better coaches at youth level but as Gilmour showed.....if they can get away and or won't get much game time...They'll be off. We've proven that whatever is at stake...we'll throw Mikey in or Frimpong etc....they won't..

That's the worry that we lose out on more going to them as we already have just now..

It definitely needs sorting as it's crucial to our model..

We got lucky with Maloney being some coach, offensively, and he had the likes of Johnston, Hendry, Aitchison tearing top teams apart but the defence was embarrassing and we had midfielders and cb’s playing full back to try and make it work.

Since then the actual tactical side etc. Have been worrying.

We’ve got plenty of money? Go and get some actual * coaches and we’ll reap the rewards.
