    Very good move for him..

I actually quite like Lindsay. Good all action type player with dig. No disgrace that he probably isn't our level..

Think he'll comfortably do well in the top flight..

CELTIC midfielder, Jamie Lindsay has joined Premiership side Ross County on a season-long loan and has teamed up with the Highland side at their La Manga pre-season training camp.

The 21-year-old Celt has previously been on loan with Dumbarton in season 2015/16 and Morton last term.

Everyone at the club wishes Jamie well in his loan period with County.

Why don't they introduce a youth championship for club teams during the summer? Our young players need more games and more attention. Fair too few coming through. 90 odd percent wind up playing lower league football due to lack of exposure.

Supposedly we're in talks with a couple of the Huns best youth prospects.

One of them is supposed to be outstanding and is only about 14.

From this Squad, I heavily believe Ajer and Kundai will be at the bench against Linfield

MORTON HAVE signed freed Celtic midfielder Connor McManus.

The 21-year-old has joined on a six-month deal and goes straight into the squad to face Motherwell tomorrow.

McManus enjoyed a brief spell on loan at Queen of the South last term, and once scored an audacious chip from 40 yards against AC Milan in the UEFA Youth League.

Ton been as Jim Duffy said: “Connor’s a talented player who was very well-schooled at Celtic. He’s a player I think has a lot to give.

“In terms of his personality, everyone is glowing about him, so I’m sure he’ll fit in very well amongst the boys.

“He’s a player who was available and who we’ve actually spoken about a few times in recent weeks.”

Jamie Lindsay looked fuming coming off earlier. Not surprising when the guy beside him was having a shocker when shooting over the midget stand and McIntyre raging at him, as well as should've been seeing a definite red card shocking tackle..

CELTIC have been handed a mouth-watering draw in this season’s Premier League International Cup. The Bhoys will face Manchester United, Swansea City and Athletic Bilbao in Group D of the tournament.

It will be the fourth successive year that the Hoops have participated in the Under-23 competition, which encompasses the top academy teams from the English top flight and selected international clubs, renowned for their excellent youth set-ups.

Part of the event since its inception, Celtic have reached the knockout stages once, and they only missed out on the quarter-finals last season on goal difference, recording impressive victories over Aston Villa and Valencia to finish second in their section.

Speaking to the official Celtic website, Professional Academy Manager, Tommy McIntyre said: “Obviously, the first thing that springs to mind is that it's an exciting draw. I look at the other groups as well and it’s a wonderful opportunity for us to play against top-quality opposition and one we will look forward to.

“It’s an U23 tournament and you are allowed over-age players, so it’s a step further towards the first-team and a step closer to obtaining that level of consistency in performance. We would reiterate how important it is for the development and education of young players.

“It’s a great opportunity, not only for the players but the coaching staff and the club to play against the cream of England and Europe. Because it’s U23 and you are allowed over-age players, sometimes you never know the strength of the team you are playing against.

“Last season, we did really well and were unfortunate not to make the group stages, with great performances against Aston Villa and Valencia. The margins are fine but we would rather have it that way and the level of competition which this tournament will bring.

“Bilbao are proud of their traditions and will bring a different level of game. Swansea City have been very strong over the last few years and they have a great set-up down there.

“Manchester United is a wonderful tie for us, and it’s good for us to get back in there. It doesn’t matter who you draw in the competition - when you see the calibre of teams in it, we are delighted to be part of it.

“It will be a good gauge to see where we are in terms of our development, especially with having such a young side this year. And that’s the whole reason why we are in it – the development of players.”

TOMMY McIntyre believes participating in the Whitby Town Challenge Cup will provide the perfect springboard into the new season for Celtic’s Development Side.

Starting today (Thursday), the Bhoys will go head-to-head with their counterparts from English Premier League side Newcastle United (KO: 7.45pm), and then on Saturday they will either face Whitby Town’s senior side or AZ Alkmaar.

And with the start of the competitive campaign drawing ever closer, the Professional Academy Manager told this week's Celtic View that the tournament would be a timely test for his young charges.

“We have a good link with Whitby Town and it was ideal from our point of view at the stage we are at in pre-season,” he said. “It’s taking us out of our normal training programme, we are getting away for two or three days and we are having with two games against top-quality opposition.

“We are playing Newcastle first and they will be a strong side. They are back in the Premier League and have bought a few players over the summer, while AZ Alkmaar are a strong Dutch team and Whitby Town will have their first team, so physically they will certainly test us. It’s a good period in our preparation and it will be a good trip for us.

“You always get difficult games against English opposition, but you are always guaranteed good facilities and everything about the trip is usually first-class. We have taken on a lot of tough games so far and, given we are a relatively young squad, with a lot of our players just coming out of the U17s, it’s a big test for them.

“While you want to win and do well, it’s the manner in which we play which will give us a gauge to where we are in our fitness levels. That’s why we take these games.”

And the coach has urged any Celtic fans in the Whitby area to turn up and support the club’s youngsters in the tournament.

“As always, we really value the fans,” said McIntyre. “They are fantastic and no matter where we have been and where we go, there are always Celtic fans there.

“The players love having the fans supporting them and it will be great for them to see one or two young ones, albeit who will be a bit raw just now, having a good test and the games will be a good spectacle.”

All the matches will take place at the Turnbull Ground, the home of Whitby Town.
