    CELTIC will go into the SFA Youth Cup final at Hampden tonight (Wednesday), aiming to ensure that green and white ribbons are tied on the trophy come the end of the game.

    The match, and the tournament as a whole, will help in the players’ education and, hopefully, ultimate progression into the Celtic first-team squad, and that will always be the main motivation for the squad.

    But as coach Tommy McIntyre explained, part of that development is getting into the habit of winning.

    “It’s a big game, against our fiercest rivals, and they’ll feel the same ahead of the match as we do,” he told this eek's Celtic View. “We just need to prepare and do our homework. Most importantly, it’s a great environment for our players to play in.

    “It’s a great position for us to be in and we keep saying that it’s all about experience and learning. So, between the Scottish Youth Cup final and the European games that we’ve played this season, you couldn’t really ask for a better environment to develop your players, and that’s what it’s all about.

    “It’s on television too, so it’s a great opportunity for the boys to showcase their talent, but the biggest thing is to develop these players and get them into the first team - that is the biggest prize for us. It’s great to be involved in these big occasions and it’s even better to win.”
