The deal fell through because Michael Nicholson wouldn't pick up the phone to Birmingham, and when Brum tried to phone the club they kept getting told he was busy with deals, so Birmingham pulled the deal. Yang was told at the start of the window he could go, and that he'd definitely be allowed to go. Swansea and Norwich were also interested at points.
