    Im considering which to buy for xmas and need an in depth look at both of them, can anyone give me the pros/cons of a ps3 as I already know all about the x-box.. Also things such as which games are coming out in the future?

    -10x Quieter than the xbox
    -controller chargeable via USB to PS3....xbox you have to buy batteries
    -Good user interface
    -Updates every thursdays
    -Blu-ray...trust me its worth it
    -Good Internal hard drive
    -Supports Bluetooth
    Cons...
    -    doesnt have ingame XMB yet, but getting it on a download in Jan
    -thats it really...

    Games coming out:
    GTA IV
    Unreal tournament 2008
    Metal Gear Solid 3
    Army of Two
    BF2 Bad Company
    Haze
    Devil may cry 4
    Half life 2 the orange box
    The Getaway 3
    Tekken 6
    Littlebigplanet
    etc etc etc

    er...if you mean play online while the PS3 is downloading the update i dont think cos the update is to improve the PS3 online and online so you would want it to play online...but while downloading things from the internet, demos, videos etc u can play online while they download :)

    Well for all the extras obviously you will pay more is a XBOX pro not £250 and a ps3 is £280

    Evryone i have spoke to says the only 1 thing the 360 is better at is online gaming and the ps3 will match that in a couple of months

    atm it has to be the 360...i can't think of one cross platform major title that doesn't play smoother on the 360..also the games are slightly cheaper...from a pure gaming perspective i would have to say the 360..i'm quite sure the ps3 will improve but for me it has been a bit of a let down on the games front...look at pes2008 for example..the 360 version is far superior to play as there is no framerate issues..the ps3 patch has improved things slightly but still a pretty poor conversion...depends what your lookin for i suppose..as an all round media machine the ps3 is exceptional and will improve on the gaming front...but as i wanted a cheap kick back and play console as i already already have a fairly competent gaming pc ..i went for the Xbox mainly due to the pes2008 issues and the GTA4 exclusive content deal with microsoft,which suggests to me that this could be another cross platform title in which the 360 will have the slight edge...theres my tuppence worth

    the only reason GTA4 has exclusive content is cos they started making it before PS3 was out so its not set up to be on PS3:86:

    however the next installments of GTA will be far superior on PS3 as Rockstar have already said they will need to release it on multiple disks for the xbox and cut back on the gameplay, whereas on PS3 it will all fit on the Blu Ray disk:rolleyes:

    nah the picture has went and the warranty is out so off she goes tomorrow to some london lot to fix her i will pay what ever it takes i need to get back into call of duty 4 online quick and they say 10 days microsoft says 4 weeks

    Just get call of duty 4 and pro evo 2008 if thats your thing, or Half life 2, Burnout paradise...

    i think you'll find a token gesture..to the tune of 50 million dollars was the deciding factor...* all to do with development..do you really believe Rockstar are going to come out and say future versions of the game will be superior on the ps3 with the current market share as it is, after recieving 50 million from their competitor...utter nonsence...however link me the official rockstar statement and i will stand corrected.:50:
