Think I’ll need to read up on the threads etc as I’ve got to admit complete Rookie but certainly would like to get involved cheers Marie & scotia for the Pointers appreciated

 

It's really simple. You have different teams. 'Town' are the good guys. 'Mafia' or 'Scum' are the bad guys. The objective of the game if you are town is to work out who mafia are and vote them out. The objective of the game as a mafia player is to kill off the town players until you have at least 50% of the town population, therefore you win.

The game is split into day phases and night phases. During the day, everyone posts in the thread to try and work out who is scum/mafia. They then cast votes to vote the player out (it's called a lynch). At night the mafia kill town players to get rid of them and during the day the mafia try to get town players voted out/lynched.

Some town players also have power roles to help learn information about the game and the other players.

There's a lot of variables to the game but you get used to them with experience.
