I haven't trusted WGS's judgement in the transfer market for a long time now. Their is no question his signings have been more miss than hit, only the trully delusional would think differently IMO.

 

Spot on! Why are so many of our fans getting worked up about signing guys that have made us money? Or added competition? I want to sign first team players who will entertain!

 

You have got to trust him 3 in a row and last 16 twice. His selections/tactics might be a bit dodgy but he delivered the goods in the end.

Absoloutely mate we should not be buying players to sell on, we should be looking to buy players who improve us as a team.

We are not doing that and in three years we are yet to see a first eleven on the pitch that plays like a team. What we do see is mediocracy in the extreme in tems of perforemances.

You cant tell me that after 36 signings in three seasons that we have put a balenced, entertaining and coherent side together. The team should be picking itself.

All Celtic fans have differing ideas about who should be playing, that tells me their is a problem. No use sweeping it under the carpet by now a clear starting 11 should pick itself.


For example and I hate comparing teams/managers but for the purpose of making a point. Under MON his team picked itself and most fans seemed to agree with his selection. I still think after 3 seasons WGS has trouble knowing his best 11 and many fans constantly scratch their heads at his team lines , that is truly worrying.

Exactly! We have heard every excuse possible, he inherited an ageing MON team, he has not had time/money to bring in his own players. Like you said 36 players and millions of pounds later we are still watching the same pish

 

Winning pish though for the most part.....would you prefer scintillating sexy football and no trophies? Of course we would like both, but given a choice i`ll stick with the 'pish' and winning trophies thanks.

 

Truly Hammer your loyalty and sheer blind faith is admirable. For me your view is clouded but I respect it. However if we all felt like you, then we would all be happy to see a Kilmarnock 11 wearing the Hoops week in week out.

As I said I do respect your opinion, we just seem to dis agree on most things, I guess if we all agreed with each other then this site would be boring.

if your're going to be critical I don't think his signings have been the problem, given the chance as manager we would have signed many of these players e.g Deeks and Grav, the problem I have is the way good players come to Celtic and seem unable to find top form or when they do they struggle to mantain it, i would list examples but we'ed be here all day. I'm not puting the blame at Strachans door, is it possible we need to look at ourselves as fans?

The mentallity seems to be no palyer can be good for us, they are either * of be use no end of superbolt to describe them. Take Evander Sno as an example often when he came on he would make mistakes but he did have a few good games. Sno never merritted being booed. I'm not a pro so i wouldn't know but I'd reckon when u've made a mistake you fee bad but when 50,000 people jump down your throat it must amke it 10 times worse.

On the other hand we don't epect to beat teams in the Cl so the atmosphere is one of encouragment and anything good is appluded. this must enspire the players.

Maybe we shouldn't be so quick to blame others for our fallings. Don't get me wrong we will win 4 in a row just a few changes may make it a lot easier.

Also I'd like to say i'm disgusted at the player we pick every year to give the Camara treatment , in that i mean a player that possibly isn't good enough or is being played out of position and trying his best.

And this year it looks like Wilson or Brown which is awful, and I'm not trying to be Mr.Innocent because I'll admit I've went over the top with critizing some of these players before.

Anyway a fair length and probably mostly * but jsut my opinion.
