The first match i can remember being at was the 65 cup final against Dunfermiline (I was 9) so I've been supporting Celtic a wee while. Wouldn't know what else to do....It's in the blood. It's an involuntary reaction....like breathing....yea just dae it.:50:

I believe I would, there would be a different satisfaction and feeling, from beating teams when hardly anyone turns out to watch you.

i see a lot of supporters on here saying they would but they are the same ones who are on here sticking the boot into a different scapegoat everytime we lose or draw, sometimes if we win. guarentee the younger element on here who have been spoilt by winning days wouldnt.

me yes i would started following just when lou macari came so most will know what we went through then

Having been watching celtic for nearly 40yrs and experienced many too many fantastic moments too mention as well as a good few bad ones i may have criticised players, managers, the board and probably even * himself at times during those years for performances etc but i would never even contemplate not supporting the team i love no matter how long they went without winning the league or any trophy. :50:

Yeah i lived through nine in a row and if anything it made me a stronger fan through the desperation to finally win the title, so id have to say yes i would.

    Not in public.

But I'd like to live in a truly free society where you could if you wanted, without fear of prosecution.

Oh wait [reads the actual post] ...

We were averaging crowds of 25,000 at Celtic Park for most of the '90's. So either we've gained more than 35,000 fans since then or some of the people in this thread are lying.

Success is completely irrelavent to me. In fact, I would gladly accept another 10 years of hardship right now if it would bring the atmosphere, noise, colour & community back to Celtic Park. Despite the lack of success on the field, Celtic Park was a place I actually enjoyed being back then and now it's a place I dread going to. I'd give up every bit of success the club achieved in the last decade for things to go back to the way they were.

you would have been better asking if any of our fans are glory hunters cos thats what the question really means cos at the end of the day about 20000 fans go to watch hearts hibs aberdeen and utd knowing they will never see their team win a title again in their life

    completely agree

back when we were winning nothing the atmosphere at the games was electric. we won nothing but we were there because we loved celtic and we were proud to say it. these days the punters think they are entitled to win league trophies just for turning up

would i follow celtic if we only won 1 title in 18 year?

id support celtic if we never won another title in my lifetime

What he said. I grew up when Rangers won 9 in a row.

Whether you like it or not its in your blood!! You fall out with them when things aint going well but deep down thats only because you "LUV EM". I sometimes wish i didnt feel the way i do about celtic coz after results like hapoel it gets u so down. But as i say its in your blood and you stick with them. Must admit i gave up my season ticket under strachan because it was so bad but that had a lot to do with cost, but if they had been playing good stuff i could maybe have borrowed the money

No brainer... Faithful, through and through. Coming from Australia, my football team there hasn't even come close to winning the league since the 1980's.

Or in baseball terms, apart from winning 2 World Series in recent years, Boston went for over 80 years without tasting success, whilst their great rivals, the Yankees, won 26 ! But Red Sox fans stayed loyal.

It's even more relative, if the recurring arguement of the O** F*** joining the EPL ever eventuates. We have a huge support, and Im sure after a period we would be able to mix it up, as we saw against Arsenal, there is a significant gap... and although Arsenal on their day can be one of the best teams on the planet, it is unlikely they will win the league this season, highlighting even more what would be required to compete for that title.

    Keep the Faith.

i was born into a family of huns, orange loyalists, and was brought up a rangers fan til i was 5 or 6 (1995/96) and it was then i made my own choice to support the tic, even though they wernt that great, so i honestly believe i would still be supporting the bhoys....thers still family memebers who cant even breathein my direction because im a tim(and im 18 now!), so if anything i wouldnt even give them the satisfaction of me supporting the manky mob!!!!
