I'd rather play for Southend than let down some of my closest family, including my old man. I'd imagine him watching me pull on a huns top would be like a dagger through his heart.

If you would have asked me when I was 14-15 I would probably have said yes however over the last few years by hatred's built up for them and I thought about this recently and if the choice came up where it was Rangers or nothing then I would rather just stick on at college than play for those *. Can't imagine what it would be like listening to them singing the billy boys etc and then you have to try and help them win haha no chance.

Well put it this way - right now im out of work & im signing on the old rock n roll (dole) & if minty moonbeams came to me & offered me a million a season & a mansion & ferrari to go along with it id have no hesitation in telling him to shove it right up his *,,id have all the material things in the world then but id have sacrificed my identity & principles to play for that fan base & everything that their club stands for, i know its a hypothetical question but i swear that if it was reality my answer to the huns would be simple - GET TAE *! :50: :ynwacelti

Never, never, never, * never would I sign for that filthy sectarian anti-* mob. Can't even imagine walking out of that mordor tunnel hearing all their bigoted chants against catholics no danger. Seeing a Union Jack is bad enough in this country!!

Drive me mad just even thinking about this.

They could offer me a million a week, NEVER SELL MY SOUL TO THE DEVIL.

As a young lad who plays football played for Raith Rovers and that in past moved to England so now not at a team but when I was up in Scotland my Dad always said to me not to go to Celtic when you are young as it might help you in the short term but in the long run it will probably get you nowhere probably leaving you without a team, he said I hope you'd never go to Rangers and I said obviously not and he then said but I hope if you had the chance that you didn't go to Celtic either. Playing for a team in Scotland such as Dundee United would be better option probably i reckon

Your da didnt have too much confidence in you. If that was my son i'd be encouraging him to bust a gut to make a name for himself at the celts

I could'nt sign for them. I've no doubt there are people working to cut out the vile elements at that club but i just would'nt feel at ease at there knowing their history. So i guess if i did'nt get to Celtic and Rangers were the only option i would have to give up the day job. Reapply to Celtic in another capacity. The View, ticket office , anything :icon_mrgreen:

No my dad had lots of confidence in me, was always there for me took me out playing football everyday until he joined Navy but before he went into the Navy he would be out training me everyday took me to every match and he just thought that it would be a better idea to make a name for myself at another team so then Celtic would know about me and then maybe go on to play for them. I got offered to join Dundee United when i was 10 but moved down to England cos of my dad being in navy and then that was that until last year when i moved back up its not been to bad, but what my dad said i agree with, i'd rather work my way up than start from celtic straight away, to me its all about the satifisaction of playing football week in week out and i'd rather that so i make a name for myself that way.
