I think it comes down to objectives and expectations.

Had someone said to you at the start of the season that by the end of the season we would have got to the last 16 in europe, beaten barca, lost the league cup semi final, won the league by say 15 points, and will likely win the scottish cup final, would you take it? I would suggest every celtic fan would grab that without a seconds thought. This season has been odd, and at times quite frustrating, but it has also been one of our most successful. I just dont believe any celtic fan would have demanded more at the start of the season.

But I think people get greedy, and football fans are the worst. The quickly forget any progress made and instead focus on perceived negatives. They assume things should only ever get better and so suddenly a likely double and last 16 of europe is no longer good enough. They forget that before Lennon took charge we were getting beat 4-0 off St Mirren and we couldnt get out of a Europa group of Tel Aviv, Hamburg, and Rapid Wien. Now we are strolling to the league title and beating the likes of Barca, Benfica, and Spartak. But people still want more!

Sometimes we just need to detatach ourselves a bit and just admire the crazy amount of progress our team has made over the last few years. When you do that, winning the league by 15 points or 40 points really looks pretty insignificant.

We didn't beat Benfica, but that is nit picking, you make a good point.

My problem is the attitude of our players in the league, which is why I created the thread. I can handle dropping points, but not in the fashion we have done it this season. If we had a contender in the league this season people would be calling for Lennon's head, no matter how well we did in Europe.

its the large amount of apathetic performances

where it looks to the fans that the players aren't giving a *

our fans who for the most part are on minimum wage or not much more, are left with their weekly highlight and leave absolutley disenfranchised by a lack of effort

that is the issue! no-one is disenfranchised by europe but the bread and butter performances by and large

we can't allow the football on display by celtic to degenerate like it has in the domestic games this season, next season aswell
