Juninho - won a world cup
Fortune - not even played 2 full games for us

Tebily, Scheidt, Du Wei, Muggleton etc etc etc etc etc all played for us ffs, catch a grip :56:

no i dont, if you think of all the other players we signed that made an impact fairly quick.. jorge cadete, di canio, hartson, sutton, i think hes a donkey an were gonna lose a fortune on him (pardon the pun)

correct me if im wrong irish shooter but I think Hartson never scored for about 7 games and we signed him half way through a season so they were all real games.

Larsson passed the ball to Chic Charnley on his debut and we lost a goal from it and the match I think.

Not every player starts off brilliantly. Some players start off great and then are actually under par like Donati, Pearson and Gravesen.

Petrov is another one who took about a year before he started becoming a good player, Brown another, Caldwell. And theres Moravcik's, Suttons and Di Canio's that become instant hits.

no your not wrong but hartson had a record when he came here and he played some good games before he scored

I havent seen anything positive about fortune, one thing if he came on a free but he cost almost 4m, I know a donkey when i see one

Well known for his Hunnish leanings. Threw up on the pitch at Tannadice, then had the cheek to give us the vicky!!!
Partick Thistle was the * level. Should never have been allowed anywhere near a Celtic jersey.

personally...i'm rather surpried with some names mentioned.
berkovic? thought one of the old firm games he played in, he was prob our best player.
Juninho? agree he never really done it here but he was a crackin player n dont think there's many that would have liked to take the 7 jersey on after Larsson...maybe expectations where to high.
Bobo? gave other teams somethin to be scared of to goto parkhead and may have made some silly misakes, but how many times di he save us aswell and may have blead us dry...but be honest...any person would have done wot he done.
Petta? kinda thought near the end of MON's era, he was startin to come on a bit, obviously not great but defo not the worst.
Mcmanus? you'd rather have schiedt or du wei ahead of mcmanus?
Lee Naylor? his first season he had to be one of the best wing backs in britain...behind cole at the time, obviously went down hill now tho.
Aliadiere, sno, graveson etc as mentioned, all good players, maybe not great but defintly not the worst, think they style of football they played just didnt fit to ours

would have to be between schiedt and du wei! john barnes was a w@nk aswell....

Cannot believe some of the names being banded about here, boruc, naylor, miller and mcmanus to name a few. Suppose we're all entitled to our opinions.

The first name that popped into my head when i saw the thread was Anton Rogan who a previous poster also picked too.

Regularly committed stupid fouls in the box then looked like he was gona cry when the inevitable pen was awarded.

If you'd rather have Du Wei ahead of ANYBODY else people have put, you need your head examined. I think it has to be the Chinaman, hands down, case closed.

If we're including transfer fees, I'd take Du Wei over Sheidt. Only way I can think of out-doing Du Wei though :icon_mrgreen:

No mate i agree with him. Naylor's 1st season he was outstanding. Most will probably agree although i dont think he was 1 of the best full backs in Britain he was definitely very good for us.
