    Take out the metronomic passing and this whole passage sounds like you're describing a game of chess, which is artistic and meritable and all that crap but is boring to watch. Put in the metronomic passing and it sounds like trying to lull someone to sleep.

    If we were talking about it's ability to win games then there would be no argument, not least because Greece's defending also wins games. Not arguing that Spain doesn't have great players, just arguing that some methods of winning (Greece AND Spain) are not always fun to watch.

    Flying fullbacks, tricky wingers, creative #10s trying to put the ball in the box or cannon one from distance is a lot more fun to watch than "metronomic passing" between half field and the opponent's box.

    As for the brick wall, if I gave you two youtube videos and you were only allowed to watch one, which would you choose? The guy trying to smash through a brick wall or the guy methodically taking it down brick by brick?

    But Spain have all those things and more, it's the beautiful game my friend. Anyway their dynasty will come to an end sooner or later, nothing lasts forever, and I've enjoyed it immensely while it's lasted, but we'll agree to disagree.

    It would have been better to have them as pundits for the England game but the BBC know that that they will not provide the bias which is sufficient for an England game.
