stuck a few quid on uruguay to win the tournament as my dark horse bet, think thell be exciting to watch.

i fancy the Saudis to upset Russia.2-1 at 25-1.although don't know * about thum, always like to cheer the underdog in these games.what a disappointment that would be as tournament hosts on the big stage in front of the world:56:.

Saudi Arabia are ranked higher than Russia.

There is no upset no matter what happens.

So will Putin be but regardless, they’re ranked higher than Russia and they’re at the World Cup whilst Scotland and Ireland are watching it on the telly!

Home nation losing the opening game against Saudi Arabia would be an upset despite the FIFA rankings.

Quick look on Oddschecker shows most bookies have Russia 4/9 and Saudi Arabia 8/1. Definition of an upset.

Russia are favourites because they're the home nation but neither side are any good.

Definition of an upset it wouldn’t be.

I'm seeing a nil nil draw on the horizon, hope I'm wrong.

It quite literally would be, as it upsets the odds which have Russia as strong favourites. That's what an upset is. You may not consider a momentous, unforgettable win, but it absolutely would be an upset.

Literally and definition clearly don’t mean what you think they do.

Anyhoo, looking forward to it. Think the Saudis could sneak a draw but I’ve went 1 nil to the Ruskis.

An 8/1 side beating 4/9 home favourites would be an upset. There's no debate to be had.

I meant I'd be upset if I were a Russian.

It'll be an upset, no debate about it.

I know nothing about the Saudis but Russia have a decent enough midfield and attack to win comfortably..

Golovin is a real good player, highly rated around Europe. Kokorin is a good threat up top. Smolov also. Dzagoev has always been a good player. Cheryshev is a fast direct winger who does well in La Liga. Dzyuba is a big handful. The Miranchuk brother's looked in the Europa against Sporting I think they put out..

Their old defence and dodgy keeper's are where they're shittest but they should be beating the Saudis with a bit to spare..

    Sound contrarian lad.

I honestly couldnae gee that much of a * :56: but it won't be any seismic event, as I said they are ranked above them therefore are in better form. Whether the rankings are a * take or not, which they are!

I think Russia 1 nil (took it on my Super 6) but wouldn't be surprised in the slightest at a draw.

They are really poor mate, as poor as they've been in years.

The fact they didn't have to qualify has kinda thrown a blanket over that fact but their friendlies have shown it.

Hoping the Saudis do pull off the upset here, would really put the pressure on Russia in their next two games and make it a very open group.

It'll be interesting to see how they get on..

Massive pressure on them to be winning this first game. If they can, they'll be hoping Uruguay maybe clean up the group and it's a straight head to head against Egypt without Salah, possibly..

I don't think they'll do well and also doubt they'd of qualified if no for hosting for what it's worth. Just making a case that they do have a few decent threats..
