anyone ever worked abroad for the season in a club 18-30 hotspot?
went to kos last summer with the lads for a week, and the day i got back i swore to myself one day il work the season abroad,
initially was going to do it after my apprenticeship, but when all that fell through and i cant find a job here, unhappy at home, dabblin with a little too much drugs and crime and the people around me arent helping much, iv decided im going to work this summer in either, malia, magaluf, or zante, most probably Malia
anyone ever done it? few family members and such like have and said it was the time of their lives, and not too mention the amount of * available, after my record in kos iv got my hopes up !
so anyone any advice for me?
leaving home wont be as hard for me as it would alot of other people, been away from my parents months at a time before.

Just do it. It's always better to regret doing something than to regret not doing it. Give it a try. You've got nothing to lose. I decided to move to Malta 11 years ago and have a much better quality of life now. Only thing is I'm 1,800 miles from Celtic Park now.
That's the downside. -
i once had a ten week stint working in Holland,not in the leisure industry though but still had a great time.what i will say to you,is if youve got the chance then go for it,like you said your going down the wrong road,so this could be a life changing adventure for you,plus the perks of the *.hope you enjoy ,dont forget to post your adventures,if you go for it. If you have a degree teach English... although you can technically do it in less strict countries without one like Thailand. That's the first thing I'm doing once I graduate... it doesn't pay well but you get to see the world. My first place to go will be Bangkok, although if the politics don't get sorted out in the next three years I'll go to Hong Kong. From there I'd like to just go west until I get back to the States after probably 5-10 years and then I'll get a real job in my field.

In Malta you only have to speak good English to get a job teaching foreign students.

It's that way most places that I've looked... and Malta is actually one of the more likely/plausible places I was looking at for the central Mediterranean part, maybe after Cyprus or Turkey. I can't survive without my warm weather... California's spoiled me. :icon_mrgreen: I can hardly ever go back east because it's always too cold or hot. I'm sure it's kind of the same situation with you if you moved to Malta from Scotland.
But anyways I really don't think there's any reason to pass up a reason to broaden your cultural horizons. Working abroad is the perfect way to do it because you aren't really a tourist anymore, but just one of the people... so I say go for it. -
A * would love to work in magaluf the * milk over there is fantastic a was there in july and the burds were unbelievable!!!

It would be pretty hard but because we speak scottish and its different from english, I worked with some chinese people and had them speaking pure scottish slang, so its well different its mad because they were taught english and came to scotland and it was well different cause we speak much faster:50::50::50: -

You'll probably get the usual losers telling you not to do it....* them. Pack a bag and go, you might regret it sometimes but at least you can say you had the balls to do it.
I decided one day to do it, went out and bought a rucksack, packed it, handed my mum the keys to my house and * off round Europe for 18 months and loved it so much I decided I'd definitely emigrate at some stage later in life...which I did and never once regretted.
Life's a lot bigger than Scotland mate...get out there and live it :50: -

got no commitments now iv lost my job and its buttons to stay over there(350 euro for flights and 1month accom)

Up until last year, I'd go on 18-30 every year - was in Kos in 04.
Every year I'd swear I was coming back to get bar work, but never did. I suppose I still could, altough im 24 this year.
I have a mate that did it in Gran Can and also my mates wee bro did it somewhere. Easy as * to get a bar job tbh mate, but set it up before you go out there.
You'll get so much * bud. Go for it.

Malia - Nice one mate. I was there in 2007 out of all the places I've been i've never seen so many good lookin burds, was almost discouraging lol.
Theres a resort a 10 min taxi away called Hersonissos which is basically full of Irish, Scottish and strangely Dutch people (rather than the Londoners in Malia - alot of Compton Gangsta wannabes). Crackin wee Irish pubs there to.
Also if you get a quad (if you dont have one they will drive you nuts, they are everywhere), make sure you know exactly what insurance your getting as some try to bump you wit the terminology (level A is actually the worse and C is the best or something) then make you pay out the nose for wee damages - I got mines across the road from the Mcds on the main strip, good honest place there, I was insured out my nut.

well m8 i went on the two websites iv listed at the bottom, just looked more into it, got talking to a guy roughly the same age as me, he was wanting to go, then after i got paid off i was like, im gonna do this, then sadly my grandpa died and i got into a bit of a rut,(smoking weed all day, drinking and taking drugs all night) then i realised what i was doing and thought what the * am i gonna end up like, so i kinda seen the light before it was too late, then i spoke to this guy again on msn and said to him lets do it, so we looked at flights and accomodation through the two websites listed, and thats where im at now, ive tried since december 1st to find a job and cant, so why not go and chase a dream while i can, cant * wait man, 88 days, and youl find aswell when u mention on the malia forums they are such a good crowd, everyone wanting the same experience, and mate u dont get a job until you go out, when i go out all the bars are opening and none have staff, so thats the best time to go.
