John was a former arsenal player so i expected that chant from them to be honest.

I know, but gesture itself was great.:50:

Wouldn't expect that from Huns if they were away somewhere.

Didnt think they were great fand tbh. They dont have any songs. Until they scored I didnt hear them at all. Every group of fans has a witty song so dont see y everyone is falling over them to say how great they are

All i heard was them giving it GSTQ and then us shouting "Aregntina, Argentina"
Nothing special about their support whatsoever.

I never noticed Arshavin being hit with a bottle? No one around me seemed to notice it either.

Our away support is pretty good, certainly alot better than you'll see at the Emirates if any of you are heading down next week. It's a nice stadium though, you'll enjoy it but just don't expect any atmosphere from the home support.

I enjoyed Parkhead on a European night, my only previous visit was a friendly in 2003 so last night was quite a contrast. Atmosphere was superb, second i've ever experienced to the Olympic Stadium in Rome.

Your fans were great though, not just at the game but in and around the stadium. Had some great friendly banter heading down the Gallowgate and in the pubs surrounding the stadium. Although it'll never happen i'm sure i speak for the majority of our support at the game last night in that you'll be fully welcomed to the Premeirship by our fans if it was to ever happen one day, you'll get a good reception next week though.

Very good result for us if a bit harsh on you lot, thought we deserved the victory but the way it happened was pretty cruel. Although we didn't display the football we are capable of, our fans are delighted with the way we won that game last night, those type of tough physical games have been our downfall in recent years and seeing us stand up and coming out on top like that is very pleasing.

Aye, got to give them credit for singing for Big John, was talking to a few of their fans walking up the Gallowgate too.

It was a Capri-Sun that was thrown at Arshavin and everyone just turned and pointed at the guy who threw it, everyone went mental at him because the club may face a fine now.

Good, honest post, although, I disagree with a couple of points.

1: I firmly believe that if Gallas never deflected that in just on half-time, the game would have finished goalless, cause neither team were threatening.

2: Arshavin wasn't hit with the drink, it landed beside him and all credit to him, he kicked it out the way and never made a fuss.(the wee * that threw it, got slaughtered by us.

I do concede that you were more capable than was evident last night.

Didn't notice any Red Hand of Ulster flags. They certainly had several St. Goerges Cross's, but they are an English club. Would be very unusual for the Gooners to be waving Ulster flags. They are not a right wing, or pro-loyalist support in any way. They draw a lot of support from the large Irish community in Finsbury Park, & other parts of North London. Chelsea, West Ham, Millwall, Man. City, etc., they are not.

The wee guy that did it was right next to me and hundreds of fans pointed him out straight away and booed him as he was lobbed out.

Was good to see, we dont need that *.

Incidentally it was an impressive throw, he was about 60 rows back. :97:

Can't make it down next week unfortunately due to work commitments, but been down to watch the Gooners quite a few times in the past.
Always received a warm welcome from the Arsenal fans, & always enjoyed having a few beers in The Twelve Pins. :50:
