Right guys hope you can help me out here.
i currently have a HP compaq nc4010 laptop not the best in the world, just used it for word processing n basic stuff.
well i got a bit friskey one day and downloaded the windows 7 build 7100 and basicly installed it over the
windows xp that was it, now im selling the laptop and need to put it back to xp proferstional, but when i try to re-install
i get a message about a compatability issue, as apparently you cant downgrade.
another problem i have is that my laptop doesnt have a cd drive, so i have a portable one, so booting from start up
wont work.
Hope you guys can help me out here
Thanks

Only thing i can think of is to put XP onto a USB and try to boot from USB. Not sure if it'll work though.

I think Raz suggestion is the best though, you need to get a copy of XP onto a USB and set up the BIOS to boot from the USB device. -

Seems there are some options available if you cant set system to boot from USB.. Could be costly and a muck about though.. some people having same issues here with advice to them :
