Will we be given the UEFA Cup?

The following quote from UEFA communications director seems to make it clear loss of Champions league (and therefore UEFA cup from previous season) is not likely


Uefa director of communications William Gaillard told BBC Radio 5 Live: "We have taken this decision because a Portuguese court has actually sentenced FC Porto and its president.
"The president has appealed against the decision but the club itself has not appealed and therefore this is a sentence that stands and under our statutes, we felt obliged to ban them from next year's Champions League. "I don't think it will affect Porto's status as champions of Europe in 2004, this is not something that has come up in the recent debates that we had among our legal experts. "

Surely this casts a shadow over Mourinho and his hopes of getting a top job!

As for Celtic being GIVEN a trophy - no way. We have to win it!

I think we would all agree that the ref in the final against Porto was "weak" when it cameto their antics. If the above is true, it would certainly explain the refs behaviour that night. We will not be awarded the trophy, but it would be nice to see those cheating, diving bassas stripped of it......and the "chosen one" taken down a peg or 2.

We wont get it. We did not win it....even if Porto are stripped of it...we didnt win it.

 

Yeah but maybe we would have if they hadnt been bribing refs bcoz on the night we did have some decisions go against us at crucial times

 

Given that we didn't win it and Porto cheated I suggest that Uefa present it to the Manchester Police and the people of Manchester for putting up with our shame.

 

its not as if us winning it by default would be some great moral victory for ourselves. they may have been rolling around a bit, but if we're honest thats not why we lost

 

we won't be handed the UEFA cup. the fixtures that are in question are those that took place the season after they won the UEFA cup. either way they still cheated their way to lift it.

but we won't be given it. i'd be very surprised if we did.

dont want it,they can keep the * thing....we know and they know they cheated and everyone knows who were the true uefa cup champions of 2003

 

it wouldnt be the same as winning it, i'm not too bothered about i have got over that final its dead in the water now

 

they were not stripped of the title mate becoz the games involved where not in the champs league,, look up uefa.com or wikipedia.

they got relegated to division 2 and stripped of their french title, and the were not allowed the chance to defend the champs league.

porto should be relegated... dont think we will get the uefa cup.

i would gladly take the cup

one more list of honors that will go down in the history books and unless you go indepth in the studies 40 years from now no one will know it was stripped and given to us 5 years later.

 

we wont get it and i dont think it would do us any good to get it anyway , defeats the purpose if we had to lift it now, most of the 2003 players are gone seperate ways now.
