  3. You have got a fair point mate but it's the complete lack of respect from youngsters today that * me off and when i see someone standing up to them i think it sends the message that people have had enough. Rightly or wrongly i think we are opening the floodgates for people to hurl abuse and be a nuisance as soon as somethings not going there way and that's more the point i was making.

  4. The most confusing thing about all this is, * was the young lad thinking? If anybody, and I wouldnt give two * how big he was, tried to man handle me infront of everyone like that especially when it had * all to do with him, a would of stuck the nut on him. Seriously why would you let anyone push you about like that beats me:39:

Did no one on here make mistakes when they were young?

The 'bigman' is a grown guy, he should know better than to assault a random boy. That's just as much a lack of respect as anything the young guy is doing.

  5. I agree mate, their is a distinct lack of respect in society today.

  6. In the herald today that it's been proven he purchased the correct ticket and it was valid apparently.

  7. A lot of folk in this thread alone with egg on their face then.

  8. I don't get it, why wouldn't he show the correct ticket then?

So Scotrail did apparently * up. No wonder he was * off.

Yon big man may be facing the jail yet. He had no right to get involved and I daresay the "disproportionate force" argument will get an airing.

Conductor will get his balls booted for letting the situation come to that. Total incompetence.

The lad will likely get a breach of peace for swearing, which is fair enough considering there were kids on that train; but that was no excuse for the fat guy to act like he did; the fact that the Daily Mail is hailing him as a "hero" makes me instantly suspicious! :56:

A salutary lesson on why you should always wait for two sides of the story.

EDIT: evidence emerging from KDS that the kid wasn't the only one chucked off the train that night... :86: :icon_mrgreen:

Expected this. Hopefully he'll get a full apology from ScotRail at the very least.

    For sure.

  12. not really, i still think the big man acted correctly given the information available to him at the time.

how was the conductor or the big fella to know the wee dafty wasnt bright enough to hold onto his valid ticket? if it looks like a chancer, its probably a chancer.

keyword in that sentence, given the final outcome, is probably.

  13. :50:

  14. If the wee boy bought a alis ticket, but doesn't have it to show to the conducter...

then how the * should he be able to travel?

I'm sure that the law states, you must "show" or "produce" your ticket, upon inspection...

    or something like that.

So, not being able to show your ticket that you've bought, should still end out in you being unable to travel.

    Surely..?

    Egg on faces? Where?

He TRIED to buy the right ticket, but he got sold the wrong one.

The video clearly shows the boy producng and showing his ticket upon inspection, the fact that he was sold the wrong ticket is another mater.

Clearly he should not have acted at all given he was clearly unaware of the facts and so was not in a position to act. Or do you think when you see 2 people having a dispute which you know nothing about you should barge in and man handle 1 of the parties causing GBH.

  18. Seriously?

Correct to physically assault the guy?

Even if the guy had no ticket at all, that is still against the law.

That big * will get what's coming to him.

  19. in the eyes of the law its assault aye but the way i see it is hes just chucking the guy off the train. assault to me is punching, kicking etc not what the big fella done.
