I understand our market limitations but I think everyone feels they could have shelled out on a couple more first choice players though and maybe they have been too inflexible and too much hard-ball when it comes to wages. If we are not willing to pay the 40 grand a game kind of wages then we wont see too many players good enough for a decent EPL team at CP again. The agents will always see what EPL teams will pay for their player. They are not stupid. So we either pay the going rate or we will have to content outselves with players EPL clubs dont rate. The EPL has scewed the whole market and I look forward to it imploding.

The board have gambled on NOT spending that money AND being able to stay ahead of the huns (and therefore retaining the league and UCL group stages). It may have blown up in their face yesterday.

Injury and suspension had big influence on yesterday's result. Spending over the odds on players that they didnt consider to be that good in the first place or not better than the current 1st choice for a given position would have done * all to change that. But it make you feel better...

Tactical ineptitude from Strachan and poor team selection cost us yesterday.

But you can cloud the issue all you like if it makes you feel better...........

I did, and now you try and waffle a load of nonsense about paying over the odds blah blah blah....

Who says we have to pay over the odds ? The board are scrimping, there is no doubt of that imo. Let's hope their gamble comes off or we could be in some trouble if we don't make the group stages.

EDIT - How many players were suspended ? How many out injured ?

    Oh, and :bbpd:

i have said this before! a club like celtic fc should be able to spend at least 5m on a player a season easy, infact the should be able to do that another two times?
it is quality we need in the team and not quantity!

A Newcastle 2nd choice LB is earning more than Balde, he's only arguably better than Naylor. I would consider that over the odds. Man City reserve striker on par wages with our key players, thats over the odds. Are you trying to convince me that the linked players, that are outside our wage structure, could have made a big difference for us. Dont make me laugh.

Oh, we got Crosas who was in Edu's pocket yesterday. Not the godsend that people were raving on about. All that moaning he did in the paper and he couldnt walk the walk.

You're also having a laff if you're trying to convince me that the starting 11 was 100% match fit and anywhere near our strongest lineup given the circumstances.

You cite the EPL as the barometer of wages when we are clearly not in that market.

Who was suspended ? Brown, one player. We should be able to cope with that.

Who was injured ? Big Mick no real loss there. Maloney not match fit so WGS shouldn't have started him. Robson probably not fit enough to start.

We were hardly devastated with injuries/suspension. Our tactics were all wrong Dempsey and we played in to Rangers hands.

O'Dea was barely off the physio table, nowhere near match fit plus whatever knocks we werent told about.

It's laughable to take your left-back off in the dying moments when 1-0 down in a game you must not lose and replace him with another left-back.

It's laughable to drop McGeady. I'm not his biggest fan but I'd have preferred him to Nakamura/Maloney.

It's laughable to play long-ball up to JVOH all the time. Then say in your interview that you didn't want to play two wide-men as such. Why play JVOH then?

    Nonsense ?

I'll tell what is * nonsense, know alls like you lambasting MON's style of football and bumming up Strachan's when all we did yesterday was lump long balls forward to a striker who is * finished. And this against a defence with a 39 year old CB and a RB of 36 in Dailly. Get the ball on the carpet, play through them and turn them.

Do not disparage my * opinions. Practice what you preach ffs. You continually talk to people in threads in a way which you punish others for doing.

    Less hypocrisy would be appreciated.

I never lambasted MON's tactics, I merely stated exactly what they were. I dont sugar coat it like that nostalgics like you do. Go rent a DVD if your memory is failing. What the * does MON have to do with this anyways?

You fail to recognise that water was holding everywhere on that pitch yesterday. You have to play to conditions sometimes. Ever play football?

Explain where his tactics were laughable. I've asked a question and you get your knickers in a twist because you cant explain your comments.

I don't need a * DVD, I was there watching it ! And believe me it had far more quality about it than the * we have watched under WGS. His teams have got worse each year !

Excuse, excuses. I haven't really noticed significant climate change in Scotland in my 40 odd years but hey WGS suddenly feels the climate and pitches are against him and his beautiful brand of football.:56:

I have done already, perhaps you should read it. And others have spelled it out quite clearly for you.

    Get your finger out.
