Although there is some credence to some of what you say here a bigger still picture has to be looked at. Regardless of where they are next, or any season in the future, they will be made to live within their means. The Uefa FFP will see to that if nothing else. So even though you say a poor Rangers side are better than the rest, they will not be able to afford to run at their current level.

The likes of Davis, Whittaker, Naismith and McGregor will not be afforded by them. So they are going to go backwards anyway. Once they are back on an even keel, they will still be miles behind us. As of now, we have a one team league in effect. Even if we qualify for the group stage of the CL once out of every two attempts, never mind more, we will totally dwarf them.

As for your earlier claim about how we wouldn't care if it was any team other than our rivals I'd suggest a wee look at Jambos Kickback, Hibs.net or AFC chat which have 399, 263 and 267 page threads respectively expressing similar sentiment to us or have a look at the results of the no to newco poll which shows 95% against a newco Rangers being granted automatic entry to the SPL. Its not just Celtic fans, its the vast majority of football fans in the country.
