Why is Sammy a scapegoat?

samaras is definetly a confidence player... i remember eboue from arsenal he made 1 or 2 bad passes or decisions during a game and the fans were booing his every touch he ended up falling over the ball n everything then they cheered when he got subbed, the fans need to give samaras a break and if he gets the break from the fans i believe he will deliver big time as you will see him enjoying his football.

 

When I'm at the matches I do support him. The same way I support every player.....I'm not a boo bird. That doesn't change the fact I find him intensely frustrating though

 

he is merits his scape goat label because he sets himself up for it every game. he makes silly decisions, loses the ball far too often, for a big man he's too weak on the ball and his shooting accuracy isnt as good as when the original poster mentioned when he was on loan with us. All this, not to mention that stupid annoting whinging face he makes every time HE does something wrong adds to his reason for being a scape goat

Some clubs always need a boo boy. Celtic is one them. That is all the reasons anyone needs.

What encourages the boos?

a/ His hair cut.
b/ He is effeminate - many macho fans find it uncomfortable.
c/ Flair players - takes risks. When they don't pay off, some fans cry.
d/ He has never been allowed to take a freekick in dangerous position since being at Celtic, that has affected his goal totals and he is great at freekicks for the NT.

So you get angry when he gets upset at himself for * up and makes a face. Are you also one of the guys that'll say "Sammy doesn't care, get him tae *" Because that'd be contradictory with this latest complaint

He was better than Keane and MAF at least in the first half imo (no knock on Robbie by me who just had an off-day). Noone was brilliant in all honesty

 

Question for all the Sammy fans.

Would you be happy to have Sammy playing the way he does going into next season, knowing we need to fight for every scrap and every point to over throw the Shame and bring the title back to CP?

for me its a big no can we afford this lad to have 1 good game,2 poor games and 3 frustrating games.then back to one good.

 

the problem i have with sammy. why does he feel the need to run back to the halfway line everytime he gets the ball when we are on the attack.it doesnt half slow the attack down & give the other team a chance to sort there selfs out. we all know the guy can beat a player so why not turn & run at them rather than running away back to the halfway line

 

Samaras epitomises Celtic this season. He can be amazing (think back to his first goal when on loan) but he can also be useless. His form is very inconsistent. At least if he was consistently bad the manager would know not to play him. But he does show at times that he can play, just not often enough in my opinion. The team needs to be made up of solid players who continually perform week, week out.

I wouldn't say Samaras is a scapegoat, he has however contributed to a poor season. The team win as a team and lose as a team. Every player is to blame. N'Guemo is another who is inconsistent with his performances. McGeady drifts in and out of games.

Hes not a scapegoat hes just * and only seems to play when he can be bothered. the guy is lazy.

 

I believe that the main reason a lot of fans don't take to him is because he is a striker who isn't clinical enough.

 

stop sliding about the guy loves it wen he tackles n slides for about a mile then a big emotional hands to face for five minutes haha, wen the big guy plays he can be unplayable at times but when he dusny he's worse than a man doon. if sammy could get consistent then yeve gote a good striker, i think its up to the coaches to stop him doing all his big daft runs, get him to use his height and bit of pace he has n get him to play runnin through the middle, he is wasted out wide imo, he is still relatively young so teach him a new way to play and i beleive he could be a good striker

Maybe because if he turns and runs at players and it doesn't work he will get booed back to last week. He tries to play safe because he is afraid of * up. The opposite to mcgready. If he had the backing ofthe supporters you would see a different player. But then again, explaining that logic to the boo boys is like trying to explain astrophysics to an ant.
