He's miles ahead of Wilson defensively and going forward so its a really strange one by lennon

hinkels a better rb than we can expect at celtic, i reckon a few big bundesliga teams will be in with bids in the summer, along with boruc he's the only one i wouldn't entertain bids for :bbpd:

Wilson is rotten, cant for the life of me see how he's a better option than Hinkel who has arguably been our best player this season, certainly the most consistent.

Mowbray also left Hinkel out for a few games towards the end of his "reign" so there may be something going on we don't know about????

Hinkel over Wilson EVERY DAY OF THE WEEK!!!

Im surprised about this. Hinkel is a reliable and consistent performer. He should be playing every week.

I like Hinkel and think hes been one of the better performers this season, although its not hard. By leaving him out it looks like Lenny is sending the message that no-one is safe and that everyone needs to up their game to stay in the side. Well, i hope so anyway! I would have preferred Caddis instead of Wilson though.

I support Lenny on Hinkel. Hinkel is gash and is a bombscare in defence.
A lot of the time our centre backs have been lambasted when really all they were doing was covering for the gash full backs that Hinkel and Braafheid are.

I am glad that Lenny sees this defensive deficiency too.

Are you in the same frame of mind as Lennon and see Wilson as an improvement ??

Wilson is marginally better than Hinkel in the defensive area of the game in my opinion, but he is not the complete answer. I have stated on this board many times I would replace both our full backs with the Heart's pair Craig Thomson
and Lee Wallace respectively. If I was manager that would be my first port of call.

i think hinkel and samaras have now sadly played their last games for celtic im really gutted about this because i rate both of them really highly, i love neil lennon but he always talks about experience hinkel has played for germany and is always around the squad.. as much as i like mark wilson he isnt as good nowhere near it cousin showed us that at parkhead when he battered him! samaras is 1 of greeces best players when he plays bhind the striker! they both have experience!

I think Hinkel will def be one of the players cleared out this summer, not because of his poor performances but because of his desire to play in Germany as well as the fact that we could probably get at least a couple million pounds for him (which would be a profit because I'm pretty sure we got him for less than 2 mill from Sevilla.)

Disagree mate, think Hinkel is our most consistent performer, is one of the few that would be the first names of my team sheet, (Boruc, Hinkel and Keane) decent going forward and normally quite reliable in defence, much better than Wilson imo

this celtic side just now will go down as one of the poorest ever.boruc when he is on his game would be the only one i would keep, hinkel not bad going forward but his job firstly is defending his side of the park and he is poor at that and thats why we are so poor defensively, and thats why we need an experienced manager to clear the decks and get rid of these losers and underachievers who are not fit to wear the jersey

I'd go as far to say Hinkel's the best player we have. For as good Boruc is, he is quite inconsistent and error prone. Were lucky to have Hinkel and if he gets sold, that just shows the true character of our board.

With Lenny talking about this list that he's handed to the board full of players that he feels don't deserve to be here next year (I saw the interview last night on Channel 67 so this list definately does exist) it makes me feel that Lenny is preparing a platform for a new manager to come in (even if it's not him) so whoever gets the job doesn't have to worry about using a whole pre season or months into the next season to assess the underachievers for themself.. Im not bothered about anyone leaving because a new manager needs to have the balls to assemble a team in his own manner.. The only wish I'd make is that the ones coming in are better than the ones going out..

Thought he'd be better when he 1st signed TBH. Don't think he'll ever recapture his Stuttgart form, have a feeling he'll go back to Germany in the summer.

Hinkel is our best RB at the club, others have tried this year and failed.

Caddis seems to be moving more to RM and isn't even getting a game.

Hinkel is caught of position due to pish midfield/strikers. He bombs forward when he gets the chance and 8/10 put in a decent cross.. I say 8/10 because some of the times he puts in spectucular croses and sometimes he fluffs it.. but the majority of the time, it reaches its target.

If Hinkel goes forward, gives the ball to McGreedy and he loses it, it makes Hinkel look stupid.. same happens to Dani Alves at Barca, difference being, Alves has pace to get back and a decent DM + 2 CB's who know how to cover when their team is attacking.

It works both ways, Hinkel is out of position at times, yes, but CB/DMs should be covering to let him go forward, otherwise, tell him to stay back.
