The players I am talking about are Petrov (wide right instead of centre midfield), Sutton (anywhere other than up front), Thomson (centre midfield instead of left), McGeady (wide left instead of wide right) and Varga and Hartson (on the pitch instead of in the stand).
GS claims that he watched us play at the end of last season, if this is true he must have noticed that all of the above was happening. MON persisted in playing all of the above out of position in last season's run in and this cost us the league.
On wednesday night Petrov looked totally disinterested and IMO this was because of the managers decision to play him out of position and perhaps due to a lack of belief in him as well. Sutton is the best striker we have but is played out of position to accomodate Hartson who continues to show a complete lack of commitment. Thomson is in the worst form slump of his career dating back to when he became a central midfield player.
It seems to me that GS has taken MON's opinion and has not used his own judgement. This is backed up by the decision to make Neil Lennon captain. I am his biggest fan but he is not captain material. MON's only fault IMO was the loyalty he showed to his first set of signings and the lack of opportunity he gave to younger players and later signings in big games.
It is time for GS to become his own man and play these players where the should be played and if they continue to underperform drop them.
The season has not even started and the vast majority of the talk is about a crisis. GS has the opportunity to avert this crisis but he must start thinking for himself.

Dont think i quite agree with Hartson in the stands. Anyone who's going to get 30 goals per season deserves a bit of credit in my opinion. Well played the big man!

Exactly, we bring out a fud and we still lose 4 goals. We need someone who we can draft in that will stop the goals going in!

Its Strachans fault, we all know Petrov is at his best when he makes those runs into the box. As for Hartson i fell he should be our main striker with perhaps Aliadiere given his chance, Sutton should be played at Centre Half becuase Varga and Blade need shot and Boruc needs to be played in goal, although Marshall hasnt done too much wrong.

Hartson can only score goals against crap teams in Scotland.
His mobility is very poor and is the reason celtic cant counter attack anymore.
Im so disapointed in Strachan for playing the same way as MoN its awful to watch and now the fight has gone from the older players.
Watching Motherwells average players run circles around ours is beyond words:( -

Petrov played in postion today and had a blinder of a game. It just shows you that we NEED to play the right players in the right positions.
