I liked Gary Caldwell and always thought alot of his critics were a bit harsh on him. Even when he played at RB I thought he was alright.

Other would be Donati.

believe it or not i thought stewart Slater would have been a massive player for us.I had a season ticket for west ham for 3 years at the start of the 90's when i was living in London, and he was different grade for west ham on the wing. Maybe it was the Brady factor that changed him.

More recently it has to Gravesen, could have been a complete hero for us if he'd learnt to follow instructions

 

donati , crosas ( theres still time for him though ), mizuno was a big let down

 

i made a thread th eother week about this topic and i was pounded by most guys who responded to it,

i had made a team out of players who were coming through the ranks since the 90's but was disapointed that it didnt really have the affect i was looking for.

i would say my top 3 who coulda been's are :

donati,,,david marshall,,,simon ferry.

 

pearson , bobby petta and steve guppy.

 

i would say petta and guppy done quite well for their time, gradually lost a starting place to newer signings, or players that were on better form. With marshall it was like boruc and zaluska right now. marshall ( like zaluska )was pretty decent, but douglas ( like boruc ) was always favorite. Got to agree with pearson though, evander sno also.

But the main ones for me were the big lads with the reputations, like Keane, Graveson, Jarosik, Donati, Juninho. Pretty much all of them failed to deliver apart from the odd decent show.

Remember getting all worked up at the Juninho transfer actually. i thought we were going to be a whole different team, but he just didnt settle i dont think. always thought he looked like a tiny version of stan! the guy is about 4ft tall man haha

ian wright,, graveson,,roirden,,donati,,BUT THE BIGGEST ENOYENCE will be if paddy mccoart dosnt prove to be a 1st team reguler if mcgeady go,s i think hes has twice the ability. wont be happy if he shines in the premiership and didnt get the chance,

 

Also have to say Pearo

 

Juninho and Gravesen. Both signings captured the fans imagination and I had high hopes for both of them with their impressive track records.

 

Donati i remenber the hype came with him ( new DiCanio) But as alot of people are saying supper Paddy McCourt love the guy

 

back in the early eighties we had a young guy called john halpin.....at the time i was watching a lot of reserve football, and this guy was fantastic.....sadly he got a bad injury and never fully recovered. big shame.
also jim mcinally would have been fantastic for us....but he got fed up waiting on danny mcgrain hanging his boots up, and moved to dundee utd.
