    He may not have been at the very top of our list, but he wasn't appointed cause "noone wanted the job". He was appointed cause he had good pedigree, good ideas and done well at interview.

    That name is Nigel Pearson, the ex-Leicester City gaffer.
    The Express are reporting that, despite being favourite for the Aston Villa gig, Pearson has been sounded out by the Parkhead board and they are set to beat the Midlands club to his appointment.
    There’s also interest from Middlesbrough though so it looks like it could be a three-way fight for the fiery Englishman.

    It is but it doesn't detract from the point he got the job because their were no better options, especially options that were willing for Ronny to be foisted on them as assistant
