All this paper talk of our new manager is giving me a sore heed, and with the Bookies leaning in with Moyes as favourite to replace Deila I'm wondering how noteworthy it is.
I remember Malky McKay's name being near the top but I'm unsure where Deila was

At the time i was hoping for Steve Clarke.
Now im not so sure if he would be the right man for us at this point in time. -

It was Keane I think.

Keane, Mackay and Clarke as far as I remember.

Found a few articles about the favourites:

As you would expect you've got David Moyes, Owen Coyle, Malky Mackay, Steve Clarke but also Jackie McNamara (what a fall from grace) and Larsson was actually the bookie's favourite.
Hiring Larsson when had almost no experience would have been strange in retrospect, other than his association with the club. He still isn't ready to be our manager now.
The Deila appointment basically came out of left field because nobody in this country had heard of him. -
I got slated for suggesting Claudio Ranieri at the time.

At want stage Keane was unbackable and the job was essentially his(the media understood).

Well he was wrong so whoever slated him got it right:smiley-laughing002: -
Bilic oh how different things could have been :54:

Pretty sure Keane was odds on until he turned the job down.
Coyle and Mackay were the other two favourites. -
True enough :56: -

Pretty sure I had put a few quid on Larsson at 3 or 4/1
-
I have no memory of O'Neill taking over, and I think the most encouraged I felt was when Mowbray got the job :smiley-laughing002: That only took a few weeks to completely unravel. -

I distinctly remember most on here were clamouring for Mowbray to come back, but the media had it down as Mick McCarthy.
