WHO SHOULD BE CAPTAIN

Discussion in 'Celtic Chat' started by JrOhara2, Jul 31, 2010.

  1. only problem is, i prefer someone who knows the club more, so unless its like keano, i dont think a new signing can have the same impact as someone who has been here a while

  2. I think i have to agree with a few of you lot and say jos, he's the only player we have at the moment who seems to have tht determination and seams to be a real leader from the back :50:

  3. maybe explains why we are havin the debate!no ones worthy!maybe big Jos-but only in time if he deserves it:50:

  4. Brown has had three years of contributing nothing whatsoever. The more favour he's got with successive Celtic managers, the worse we seem to have become. In fact, the only time in the last four seasons we've looked remotely like winning anything was when he was replaced by Barry Robson in 2008.

I don't know much, but I do know that Scott Brown is not good enough to be a Celtic player, nevermind Celtic captain. Hibs is his level.

  5. Dont think we have signed our captain yet, would love it to be Keane but doubting it more and more everyday now. I like Scott Brown hes a just not a captain.

  6. i very much doubt big jos would get the majority of the vote if he never did any interviews, he talks a better game than he plays at the moment IMO. i dont think brown is captain material or celtic material for that matter but who else is going to do it? juarez maybe but he doesnt speak very good english, id be very suprised if brown lasted the full season as captain.

  7. I don't think Scott Brown is captain material, just look at the silly tackle he made today and end up injured. A captain should lead by example, however that doesn't mean running about the park making silly decisions.

Can't really think if any natural leaders in this squad at the current time, that probably one of the main reasons we were so dire last year, we need a new Lennon, Aitken, someone with a bit sense and true leadership qualities.

  8. well he had personal problems for the first season or two, the we were under a * manager for last season so i think he should be given more then one game under lenny, when last season when he took over he seemed to improve again. hes been brilliant pre-season, the talent is there, probably just needs some support from the fans

  9. I go watching Wigan Rugby now and again down here and they have 5 captains in their side and they take it in turn to wear the armband ..It seems to have worked for them

  10. We don't have one never mind five though!

the biggest hardest * in the team....someone nobody would * about with :50:

    samaras

nah.don't know who that would be but thats the way i see it

  11. too many excuses for me m8. at some point, he needs to stand up and start playing good football or GTF. wasting time and a spot on the team

  12. nobody stands out they used to say when you walked into the lisbon lions dressing room you knew big billy was the captain by his stature we do not have anybody like that

  13. Joe Ledley.

  14. Not good enough. He's out of his depth and if he wasn't Scottish he'd have been sold by now.

  15. No chance. Too early. IMO he hasn't shown much in pre-season. I hope that changes

  16. Personally i would give it to Hooiveld. Granted he hasn't been here that long, but he seems to me like the only one on the park who is vocal to the other players.

  17. too many people on here banging on about hooiveld when we've basically seen nothing from him save a lot of talk.now i'm not saying he is not the man but i will reserve judgement until i've seen him playing for substantial amount of time,at least one round of fixtures to half a season.so for now brown is imo the only candidate out of what will probably be the regular starters but it seems along with samaras he is the latest scapegoat,we always need one don't we.

  18. Well thats two we have now then:bbpd:

TBH i'll "bang" on about Hooiveld if i please! Lennon was prepared to make Campbell captain if he signed and he hadn't even pulled on a Celtic Jersey!

  19. and making campbell captain straight away would have been wrong also imo.hooiveld could and probably will be the obvious choice once he shows us he can play.

well spotted on the scapegoat thing,i'm such a muppet:52:
