Who could we replace Ange with?

Muscat played at South Melbourne, but he left in 1996. the same year Ange took over as manager. co-incidence?? (although to be fair he did go to Crystal Palace, so its not like they left him on the side of the road on the way back from an away game)

they next crossed paths in 2012 when Ange took over Melbourne Victory, where Muscat was already an assistant manager. Muscat was the captain when the club first started playing in the A-League in 2005. he captained the side until he retired from playing in 2011. (he did come back for one last short stint with his original club Sunshine George Cross). When Ange left to manage the National Team in 2013, Muscat was the obvious choice to take over. By this stage he had been assistant under Ange, Mehmet Durakovic, Jim Magilton, and Ernie Merrick. He had also been caretaker manager for 1 game between Magilton and Durakovic.

Muscat won 2 A-League Championships, 1 A-League Premiership, and 1 FFA Cup.

Ange called Muscat up to be on the coaching staff for the National Team at the 2017 Conferations Cup.

My memory is that Muscat was an assistant to Ange at Yokohama for a few months before Ange left, but I cant find anything online to back me up on that.

So far Muscat has won 1 J-League Championship, and 1 Japanese Super Cup.

I think if Muscat was ever going to take over at Celtic from Ange, he would already be on the staff. he is not.

Personally I would like to see Muscat take over Rangers.

As for replacement? No need for pages open pages of suggestions. With lawell back in charge if anyone doesnt think his 1st and only phone call will be to Fleetwood town they are kidding themselves on

No point in looking at this now. Ange will be here for another crack at the CL, so let's consider this, next year at the earliest.

By that time the picture of who's available and who's suitable will be very different.

being pictured with desmond recently is making me think there may be something in this spurs thing ,you never see that * unless something big is going on

 

Well I don't think he came over to say good bye. So if his presence it connected it's more likely to have been to assure Ange of his continued suuport both personally and finnacially

Could potentially have been offered a long term contract in order to get a fee when he does go eventually. Might explain meeting with Desmond.

 

One day, I'd like Celtic's East Asian connection to go a step deeper: with an East Asian manager. If Kennedy goes, let's offer Ange an EA-based assistant manager. In a few seasons, someone like Akira Nishino could take over.
