Nothing like exagerating is there. 20 yards would not have seen him score a couple of the terrific goals that we have already seen from him. I'm not pretending that there are no issues with his fitnesss but please don't make it up. Paddy will be an important player for us this season.

I don't really buy how anyone can play for Celtic and not be fit. Either he has really bad genetics or one of his recurring injuries troubles and saps him during any game of an intense pace.

Absolutely on the dot. :hi5:Wish you could of popped in with that one on the old "McGeady is *" threads though! lol Defo would of silenced all but his harshest and hardiest of critics. And sorry for going a little off topic. Big Paddy still has a future at Celtic in my opinion.

prob got injured sitting on the bench v braga, can't expect him to go two games being on the team sheet and not get injured, can you?
lol This is his 3rd year here is it not? hopefully this year he's up to scratch fitness wise and we get to see if he can cut it or not once he gets a run of games

You'd think by this time, Celtic would have appointed a special coach for McCourt and Maloney to avoid the amount of injuries they get. Is it not worth paying someone 50k a year to ensure these guys get looked after physically? It's obvious they need more stretching and warm up warm down treatment as well as dietery/nutritional advice.

If I were manager, I be making sure the most talented players were wrapped in cotton wool.

he doesnt run, its more of a jog, if he played against decent defenders then he would never score any of these "amazing" goals.

he gets about 3 minutes game time before he injures himself, shouldnt be a pro athlete at all.

what you saying then or they no decent defenders in scotland , the rest of the celtic forwards bar keane didnt score to many goals last year to win us the league, these defenders must be good when we play them.

We know about his fitness. I had a feeling he wasn't 'risked' at the weekend so we might see him tonight.

I * hope so. Without McGeady we need someone to just go directly at these guys. And we all know Paddy is well capable of tearing them a new * if he's in the mood.

:56: he is never given the chance against the big clubs, he only gets played agaisnt the likes of falkirk and st johnstone he cant help that.

he doesnt need to peg it, does messi run full throttle at players? no, he "jogs" passed them as well, its his style of play

You never seem to get tired of defending the guy.

Hope he can repay your faith this season.

he doesnt get the chance because he wouldnt do anything, any defender that went in hard on him would put him out for the season, at least.

and yes actually, i have seen quite a few of messis goals where he just leaves the defencer(s) in his wake. mccourt couldnt out sprint a door. if he comes up against a strong no nonsense defender he would get about 3 feet of a dribble in before his face hits the deck. shouldnt be a footballer if you cant play more than an hour a season.

because he gets slated on here so much for no reason, he wasnt injured for half the season, he just wasnt picked. its quite clear he is a special talent but people are quick to jump on him.
