in bold we all knew that we needed a CB but it was a mistake that we never got one in and it was a rookie mistake i hope lennon will learn from it

also look back at that time aswell when players where out with injurys thats the only reason mulgrew was played at CB

would say the hearts game motherwell game and ICT game had more of an effect than * did staying at rangers if we had a better CB in we may have not droped points

i agree our main down fall was the ICT game just wish we did sign a CB back in jan

the reason i felt more let down in january reguarding a centre half, was odea and thompson were out on loan, and we let hooiveld go.i think we all thought we had a cb lined up when that happened.

looking back it was strange to let hooiveld go and not replace him

sammy missing pen and of course caley defeat we only have ourselves to blame,in summer we must invest in a quality centre back and a quality striker and a gk

We took our foot of the gas in the CIS Final,That seemed to give the hun a boost.

I think that was a turning point.

There is never an easy answer as to why any league title is lost to such a narrow margin, and there are usually more than one.

I think it is always difficult for a manager to come in in his first full season and make so many, perhaps even drastic changes to the squad and style of play, and hit the ground running. I think the season before Christmas and New Year was not going well and only a few of us I'm sure thought we were favourites for the title. Slowly but surely we improved and the victory at Ibrox gave us all hope and belief and in my opinion we were by far the better team in the second half of the season.

As Lenny admits, we just fell short and I wonder if he feels that in the first part of the season we lost too many silly points. Last season at this time we needed a drastic overhaul, thats not the case now so hopefully we can progress and go that one step further.

We didn't lose the league at Ibrox, but we definitely would have won it if Sammy had scored with the penalty.

The run just before Christmas and the defeats at Tynecastle & Fir Park were costly, but these things happen in football. If we had won those games it would have been an exceptional season, probably far too much to expect, to be honest.

Yes, it's hard to accept the way the league panned out. But we pushed a well organised, expensive and settled team every inch of the way. We need to remember that the huns have done unbelievably well to beat us. They had better enjoy it, because I honestly think it will be their last for a good few years.

The leagues done now as far as im concerned, no point dwelling on it but i do feel that the 2 games that lost us the league were our 2 home games against Dundee Utd and Inverness. Celtic shouldn't be losing games at Parkhead. We'll be back next year bigger and stronger to deal with these kinds of things though :50::shamrock:

The league was clearly lost in Inverness.

However, the biggest single incident in the title race was clearly Samaras missing the penalty at Ibrox.

Every point dropped from the beginning of the season untill the end has played a part in our downfall.

people will say ICT others will say If sammy scored that penalty at the pox

for me December cost us the league 3 points out of 9, if we only took care of these games on our very own patch, we would have not been chatting about it

    we would have been champions,

We lost the title at Inverness when for some reason the whole lot of them turned in a dire performance also at Ibrox when that clown Samaras missed the penalty Why didn't Commons take the kick Those were the two reasons we lost the Spl title

    On reflection!
I have been keeping very close tabs on games since I retired in 2000, and paying extra for TV and of course the internet, its all been worth it, rarely miss anything of games etc.
Since 2000 consistantly I have been dissapointed to say the least with THOSE running the club the BOARD, they are moneymen not fitba men.
For me they are the inept ultimate reason we have not done better since then the year 2000.
Sure many other reasons have contributed to us not accomplishing more, I wont ignore or deny that, but when you basically dont speculate to accumulate, simple as that may sound, then you will suffer the consequencies which I feel we Celtic have done!

Agree with both these bhoys victory at ibrox at this stage of the season would have totally finished them off(would have probably resulted in an earlier attack on lennon at the dugout would have been his own fault but) and we could have been hammered 5-0 at inverness and it wouldnt have mattered even ranger know this to be true thats why that * weiss and the creeping keeper where re acting it at ibrox on sunday night.

from a psychological point of view,if sammy had scored that penalty the huns wouldve been demoralised,we would have been bouncing off the ceiling.this could be the costliest miss in our history

The 82nd minute against the huns when Sammy missed that penalty. Why someone who had scored 3 goals all season got to take that penalty is ridiculous.

If we won that game we could have afforded to get beat by ICT..
