What's happened to all the signings???

I don't mind waiting on transfers but it's a little disappointing when we are linked to so many plus Lennon said himself he has been working on transfers even before he was officially given the job, so I'd expect a signing to come sooner rather than later.

 

Dont u think that we should give Lenny time to get his feet under he table. The signings will come but for gods sake gi him a chance he only got the job a week ago.

 

I think most of the background work has been done for the players he wants coming in and all that he is waiting for contracts to run out as well as some of our current squad players to move on. Not many people start a new job or get promoted into a job and go on holiday the next week without having done some background work.

He doesn't happen to be holidaying in South Africa does he, :icon_mrgreen:

The English window opened on the 9th June until 31 August and domestic transfers can be done as soon as the last competitive game of their season end.

 

u know its not the board that release rumours its the press so the board arent trying to pull the wool over our eyes

 

Calm it. No one would join us when we did not have a manager. Lennon has been in for a few days. Give him time.

 

honestly all this its the boards fault for everything im sure hes working on deals but nothing happens overnight some clubs wont sell until they have a replacement for instance and I know its annoying when u hear all the players we are linked with in the papers but we just have to be patient and let them do their thing and im sure if they can get in their No1 targets they will

 

TBH it is the Board's fault that fans are anxious to see something happening - they themselves gave us the "it'll be worth the wait" tagline.

Now we've got Lenny, * me gently....how long do they want us to wait?

This process has been a complete * shambles & a little movement in the right direction might see some positives from fans.

They are quick enough to get out all the "Buy your season books, to help Lenny's warchest" bullshit.

They are a total joke...sad but true.

Im also slightly concerned about the lack of signings, dont want to miss out on these players, if we get Murphy we might aswel give up now. Really want to hear some news next week.

 

Yeah, Ive read that too, I rufuse to believe the press though I dont believe Lenny would take that kind of time out when hes just got the job and knows how big a task it it to get players in. Hope thats the case anyways

 

The sad thing is, there's nothing anyone has said in this thread that has surprised me...had Lenny been unveiled with a handful of signings, we'd have threads left right and centre asking if Lenny has brought in too many players too quickly.

As has been said many times, the 'worth the wait' comment was made at a meeting where many fans signalled that they were wanting Lennon to get the job.

Then there was the timescale, when asked, Lawwell said 'around 7-10 days' which was then taken as a deadline of 10 days rather than the context of the comment, which was an approximation.

Too many people seem to be looking to get their panties in a bunch over nothing, looking for a stick to beat the board with in the process.

 

theres plenty of time to bring in players we just unvield our manager days ago,patience ! there will be signings doesent matter if its in a day or a month lets find the right players to wear the hoops

 

listen as far as the likes of campbell, bullard and ledley the board have made thier pitch to the players agents theres nothing more they can do its a waiting game to see what the players decide * all anyone can do but wait!!! and thats only if the rumours are true!!!!
only sol campbell has even spoken about joining celtic directly to the press when its on the official website thats when ill believe!!

 

Im prepared to wait,because im sure Lennon will get the right breed of player to wear the hoops.

I think this is what will make Lennon and Celtic a success next season,he will sign players who will give 100 %.

 

I don't feel there's any rush. If there's a player Lennon's desperately wanting and they are about to move elsewhere, I'm sure he would have acted quickly. Half the names that have cropped up are only paper talk remember.

Think we need to be more patient.
