Fantasy or not, you would rather win the CL ugly :86:

I am not like that at all mate, I have a bit of banter but the majority of my mates are rangers fans and there is no hatred like you see with some peeps. Do you celebrate when someone has a good bit of play? No, you celebrate when the ball goes in the net. If we play with style then yeah it makes the whole experience better and you are that wee bit prouder of your team, but with Celtic winning then I am no complainin as long as the atmosphere is jumpin.

If we won the CL playing anti football then I would be embarrassed because we wouldn't have deserved to win the competition. Look at the way the huns got to the uefa cup final it was a joke.

But the atmosphere is never jumping when we're not playing well so that situation never comes about.

People who would take winning but playing *, I see nothing but the fact the huns havent won that satisfies them. Because then they are just accepting our own fans not enjoying it just so the huns cant celebrate winning.

    I don't know,a lot could happen.

    I'll give two examples.

If they win by 1 point I think he will walk but if they hammer us by say 9 or 10 then I think he would get the sack.

    You serious?

It would be some party, some achievement and something I would never ever forget. Certainly would be the best day of my life to date, regardless of how we won it. It's too good to dream of, never mind being embarrassed :87:

If you are saying that I would have to question whether you are a true Celtic fan, or just a football fan.

Id take it and then sack the manager :50: just to see us win it plus I reckon if we were good enough to anti-football our way to the Champions League then we'd be atleast ok to watch in the League. But the shame of winning it and the embarassment brought upon the Club by fans watching us would mean the manager had to go.

If Lenny signs a new 3 year deal there is no way he would walk if the huns won by a point the guy isn't a quitter. We need a period of continuity, teams who always sack their manager are never successful. Lennon will be successful as Celtic manager.

Celtic would not sack any manager that had just won them the Champions League. Irrespective of how boring the football had been.

Or did you mean that you personally would sack the manager?

Well when the Lisbon Lions won the European cup they became legends based on ability not because they played anti football. My grandad use to tell me stories about that team! What would I tell my gran kids? The way the huns played to get to the uefa cup final was embarrassing, the way we got to the uefa cup final was exciting and we gained huge respect.

Winning the league means CL football, when Celtic park is at its best. I would say the increase in atmosphere lately has more to do with the GB and Neil Lennon than the style of football we play.

Don't get me wrong I like to see Celtic playing good football, but I wouldn't except losing the league year in year out no matter what. (tho Lennon would deserve another season if he repeated this year IMO)

Would you tell your gran kids proudly about a team that played great football and lost the league 10 times in a row? Or would you tell them proudly how the overturned all odds, winning against teams that spent more on one player than Celtic do on their entire team to win the most competitive tournament in the world? Winning the CL would be a monumental achievement, I can't believe I have to explain that :s

You don't have to explain anything! I just think that anti football isn't the Celtic way, its the way the huns do things. The CL question is totally hypothetical, as we have no chance of winning the CL while money rules in football. The best we could do is probably quarter final.

what if we lose the league but make the europe league semis or the final, in that case I wouldnt mind, add in 1 or both cup wins and I would consider it a success

    As would I.

I regard season 2002/2003 a success even though we ended up winning nothing. The run to Seville will live with me forever.
